Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to KESSA GOODEN. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
KESSA, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Hi I am Kessa Gooden! I want to tell you how I go from just the idea of owning a business to actually owning multiple companies. I was an entrepreneur since I was eight years old but at the age of 16 I got a job at McDonald’s after work in two months, I realize this was not gonna be my lifestyle or the life that I want. I then quit my job and then I started selling Valentine gift on the street under a Bridge in Philadelphia. it wasn’t easy to venture out on my own but I knew I was determined to become someone more than Justin 9 to 5 worker. This was not easy I had to get up early in the morning in the cold winter time make the gifts and go out on the street and sell them. after that ,a few years later I decided to start my own business by setting up an LLC and .started marketing my ideas. I literally used to go to Walmart with my three children walking around handing out flyers to ask people to come to me for my services. I worked 19 hours a day for. 7. years to the point that I ended up in the hospital because of overworking . After the hospital I decided I was going to put my business online, instead of keep working a brick-and-mortar service company so then I did I started getting interested. in software and I started creating my own software so that I can create my company internationally. what that did for me was help me to hire people from different countries to do the work so I outsource most of my work that was one of the best decision I’ve done because it gave me a lot of free time to be with my family and get to know each of my children well.

KESSA, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into my industry because a friend of mine asked me to take some classes and get certified so that I could work with his company I started working with his company and I realize that Help grew his company substantially after two years of his company I decided I was going to start my own company and move my business out of my garage into an office building once I did that, I was able to open multiple offices. In the beginning I used to pay at least 50,000 a year for marketing but then I learned how to be a marketer so that I can grow my own company with doing so I was able to grow my company to multiple six figures I am an financial advisor. and marketing specialist. though I stop working 19 hours a day I still worked at least 80 to 90 hours per week to keep building and grow in my companies. I was able to help over 2000+ family to get out of financial hardship over the course of 17 years. People tell me I was great at what I did because I have an eye for details when it comes to understanding a financial problems. I was able to help I am most proud of the work that I’ve done over the years because in one of my company I service children from across the world and when I generate money from my financial firm I use that to feed over 10,000 kids across the world over the course of 17 years. With my help and support we teach the kids how to become an entrepreneur, we feed them and clothed them and educate them on self sustainability! They call me the mini Oprah in Africa!

Have you ever had to pivot?
During my journey of ended up in the shelter with three kids but one day I came across the book the secret and that. got me on track to start manifesting even more. I went from making $12,000 a year to making over six figures a year it was a shift in my mindset the secret was one of the biggest thing that influenced me in becoming determined to build even more exponentially.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Other than Marketing you need to know client retention, it’s very important to let the client feel that this is not just a transaction that this is a relationship and that you’re there to serve them. When you’re serving a client and showing them that you’re there for them and not the money that means a lot to a client and the client will return back to you and also send other people to you.
