Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Keshyra Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Keshyra , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Entertainment Psychology was rooted in my journey of self-discovery and a desire to challenge the belief that we can only excel in one area. Just as a plant needs nurturing to grow, I chose to cultivate my love for both the sciences and the performing arts. This passion blossomed into a brand and platform dedicated to encouraging others to nurture their own roots.
As a first-generation college student, I faced the pressures of graduating while navigating an unfamiliar academic landscape. This often made it challenging to prioritize self-care and the activities I loved. Feeling overwhelmed, I decided to reclaim my time. I began exploring my passions—singing, dancing, acting, and learning to play the piano—while deepening my knowledge in psychology, particularly in Biopsychology, Cognition, Neuroscience, and most recently, Applied Behavior Analysis.
I believe that “to whom much is given, much is required.” I feel tremendously blessed to have a multifaceted personality and diverse learning style, which inspires me to help others find their own balance. With integrity, hard work, dedication, and unwavering faith, I believe anyone can accomplish their dreams. However, having an outlet is essential for maintaining that balance.
Entertainment Psychology aims to be a nurturing space for those pursuing their dreams—a garden where individuals can water their passions while receiving support and encouragement. My goal is to help others cultivate their own growth, reminding them that they’re not alone on this journey.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who may not know me, I’m Keshyra, the founder of Entertainment Psychology, a platform inspired by my passion for the arts, psychology, and behavior analysis, drawing from my experiences in these fields. My journey began with a deep appreciation for the arts and a commitment to understanding human behavior. This unique intersection led me to explore how the principles of psychology, applied behavior analysis, and the vibrant world of entertainment can connect.
At Entertainment Psychology, we emphasize the importance of both mental health awareness and behavioral health. While advocating for mental wellness is crucial, we also focus on providing resources and strategies that help individuals find outlets and achieve balance in their everyday lives. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Together, let’s explore the powerful connection between entertainment and psychological well-being, nurturing our roots as we cultivate new possibilities for growth
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Not a lot of people know this about me, but I was adopted at the age of four. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, I didn’t have active parents in my life, which can really shape decision-making in ways people might not fully understand. But I’ve never let that hold me back; if anything, it’s propelled me forward.
I was fortunate to have a grandmother who went above and beyond to keep me busy and out of trouble. She recognized my love for the arts and enrolled me in a performing arts elementary school, which was such a blessing. In high school, I took the performance arts track and got involved in just about everything—cheerleading, concert choir, dancing, poetry, and even acting in school musicals. I also took my passion further by starting a dance team called the “Firettes,” which highlighted the majorette dance style. It wasn’t just about dancing; it was about creating a safe space for those who might not have had one otherwise.
Throughout this journey, I faced challenges, but I chose to focus on joy and creativity as my outlets. In college, I continued my commitment by joining dance teams and community service organizations—anything to keep me busy and out of trouble, honestly!
These experiences taught me that resilience isn’t just about bouncing back; it’s about using your challenges to inspire growth and create opportunities for yourself and others. I’m dedicated to honing my craft and uplifting those around me. I hope to continue expanding on my passions while giving back to my community and honoring the incredible woman who raised me.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I love this question! When I started building my audience on social media, I used to jokingly say that Entertainment Psychology was my public diary. It began as a safe haven for me to share my inspiration and art while also highlighting other creatives and the field of psychology.
I started by posting my poetry and little reels that I called “EPs.” Over time, these evolved into a collection of poetry and spoken word pieces that expressed my intrusive thoughts—things I felt needed to be shared. I opened up about my experiences growing up without my parents, losing friends to the streets and gun violence, and so much more. I’ve always loved quotes and daily affirmations, so I used my platform as a reminder that you are enough and to honor where you are in the present moment.
One of my favorite features was “Fearless Fridays,” where each week I highlighted creatives in various arts and psychology spaces. It was a great way to foster community and celebrate others. Then, unexpectedly, one of my inspirational reels went viral overnight. Suddenly, over a million people were directed to my page, and that really helped create the vibrant community we have now around Entertainment Psychology.
For anyone just starting to build their social media presence, my biggest advice is to be authentic and share your story—and even those of others. Don’t be afraid to show your journey, because you never know who might resonate with your experiences. That one choice to share myself and those who inspire me has made all the difference, and it’s incredible to see how much it has grown since then!
