We were lucky to catch up with Kesha Reed recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kesha, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Although finding success is a journey, what I have found to be helpful in reaching success is being intentional, driven, goal-oriented and to surround myself with other like-minded individuals. I have learned that it’s critical to create SMART Goals, develop a written plan with timelines and make choices daily that align with those goals. Having accountability partners and mentors are essential as well. Each of these pieces have been extremely impactful for me as I strive to reach higher in every aspect of my life.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am an enthusiastic educator, educational consultant and published author. As an educator for 25 years, with experience in both K-12 and higher education, I am passionate about helping others determine their strategic goals in order to reach higher in all they desire. My consulting business, Reach Higher Educational Consulting provides strategic planning for individuals and organizations as they identify their strategic goals to move the organization forward. For individuals, I provide career and educational consulting to assist them in creating a plan to help them reach the next level of success. I am also a published author and my book, Reach Higher in Life and Love provides 8 tips to assist others in reaching higher in life, love, career and fitness. The book is available at Amazon and can be purchased at www.keshareed.com.
Can you share a story from your journey t4\hat illustrates your resilience?
I share my story of healing and restoration in my book Reach Higher in Life and Love. The book is extremely transparent and shares my process of moving from depression and suicidal thoughts after a difficult divorce to the confident woman of faith that I am today. The book provides 8 tips that helped me along the way and has a component after each chapter for the reader to write and reflect on what steps they may take next to reach higher in all they desire.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe that my transparence has helped to build a reputation of someone who is a hard worker, resilient, passionate and supportive of others. I share my mistakes in a real way and also note what I did to move forward. Sharing my journey to healing childhood wounds, with therapy and a solid support system, along with my faith can show others the healing and restoration are indeed possible.
