Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kerr Lordygan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kerr thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I hated sports as a kid; my parents insisted I try them. I was miserable. But in 3rd grade we had to do a “play” in front of the school. We basically all stood at the edge of the stage and had to pass the microphone around. I noticed I was the one who knew best who was to give the microphone to whom. But when the microphone wasn’t passed to me in time for my line, I realized I could project loudly enough to be heard throughout the auditorium. After that, my mom enrolled me in acting summer camps — since I hated sports, we now knew what it was I could excel in.
I also always had a dire love for heavy metal, since I was 8. I was the weird little kid wearing Ozzy and Dio shirts. So it came to be I sang in metal bands and other projects from high school and into the majority of my life, on top of all of the acting… and on top of any other side corporate careers, as was necessary for paying the bills for a very long time.

Kerr, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been acting since the 3rd grade. Have called the stage my home away from home. I attended University of Southern California where I received my BFA in acting through its conservatory program.
And I’ve been acting ever since.
But along the way, I’ve also been directing, writing and producting.
And with the covid lockdowns, which were very strict here in Los Angeles, I got into the profession of narrating and producing audiobooks.
I never gave up on music either. Lately I’ve been teaming up with George Roelke to write and record some ragers that will for sure get your body jumping.
And I’m still doing it all.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Part of it really is using the powers of observance we’ve picked up along the way to incorporate into various characters with specific emotional or behavioral traits. Sometimes being able to live as someone else for a matter of minutes or hours can also teach us more about ourselves

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I mean… What’s an NFT? Ha, man, I’m turning into a geezer. I know what they’re supposed to be but I seriously just don’t understand the point.
