We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keonche Hines a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Keonche, thanks for joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
I grew up in a single parent home, my mom was and is still the hardest working woman I have ever seen in my life. My mom always taught us that money don’t grow on trees and always value a dollar. Spend wisely and carefully. My mom is also the smartest person I’ve ever met & and when she got in a better position in life she made sure her kids was in an even better position. She always have new ideas and I would say I have my mother’s brains because I also always come up with new ideas as well. My mother have a billion dollar mindset. So I want to thank her for everything she have done and is still doing till this day. Thank you mom!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As a comedian, real-estate CEO, and entrepreneur it’s hard to sometimes keep things in order of everything but I makes sure it get done and done correctly. I believe in perfection, and my brand will be one of the most talked about in the future. I worked hard to be in this position and may I say……nothing come free. You have to put in the time, money, and knowledge. I started with nothing! Other than comedy, my next love is housing. I love to show them, buy them and also build them. My team is trust worthy and most of all they saw the vision even when I didn’t. Those the people that will always be around. “comedian “keonche hines” the owner of “k.hines real-estate” owner of “hinestown trucking” and more….will be talked about everywhere.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Back in 2014 I was a depressed kid who thought the world was over for him. I was unstable and going downhill. My mom had then brought me an iPhone to make things better for me and then on I started making funny skits for vine and Instagram and Facebook. Of course I was just started and had little views but I didn’t care, people actually watched me. That’s all I cared about. Then a friend named “Dy” asked me can he join in on the skits. So I asked my mom could she buy me a canon camera. By the next few week we went to best buy and she bought me one, then I started making videos right away. The first video was called “catfish”! It’s started doing numbers after a while. But then we did another one and that one went viral. And ever since then I just been throwing out video nonstop.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Saving money is one of the hardest things to do, but that’s what I did. Money is easy to spend but hard to keep. I started making money when I became a rehabilitation technician. And from then on I’ve been saving for the new ideas I had planned. Not only do you have to have the funds you also have to have the faith as well.
