We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kenza Mouahidi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kenza, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I feel strongly about nutrition and health, and have been sharing cooking videos on Instagram. This resulted in an invitation to do a cooking show in Seattle, HomeMadeIsLive, which allowed me to share my experience with an audience of home cooks who face perimenopause symptoms, typically women in their 30s and 40s, who need tips for dealing with these challenges.
I think it is important that we, as a society, break this type of taboo, and talk about life’s challenges as people grow older. There is no shame in growing older, or experiencing aging’s symptoms. In fact, I have never been as confident and joyful as I find myself in my 40s, and I wanted to spread this message to a larger audience.

Kenza, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am conscious about health, food, and nutrition. I am a fervent advocate of the Hippocratic value to utilize food as a medicine that can prevent and cure disease. I was raised by a mother who valued the importance of the daily intake of fruits, vegetables, fiber, and vitamins.
When I moved to the US, eating properly was a challenge. Even the healthiest options often fell short of my definition of a healthy diet. Seed oils, added sugar and salt, and other additives did not meet my nutrition standards.
I typically bring food with me when I travel, in order to avoid unhealthy choices. Hence, my cooking videos, my cookbook, and culinary projects.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
David Bayer, A Changed Mind, 2023, and associated podcasts and videos on YouTube
Ryan Serhant, Sell It Like Serhant, and associated YouTube videos
Ina Garten, Be Ready When the Luck Happens, and her HBO show Be My Guest

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Society and its political rulers need to continue to allow artists to be artists. What I mean by that is they need to grant Creatives the latitude to imagine and bring to life their artistic visions, whether painting, music, comedy, or acting, without fear of reprisal or censorship, or worse.
