At Healing Hearts with Helping Hands Inc, a 501c3 non-profit organization we serve an underserved community—young expectant mothers aged 13 to 26—many of whom face significant barriers such as limited access to resources, support, and education during a critical time in their lives.

A Story That Highlights Our Mission: One of mothers, we will call her Jasmine, a 17-year-old who found herself unexpectedly pregnant and overwhelmed. Living in an area with limited access to quality healthcare, parenting resources, and supportive networks, Jasmine felt isolated and unsure of how to prepare for her baby’s arrival. She struggled to find affordable baby supplies and lacked guidance on essential life skills like budgeting, financial literacy, prenatal care, and emotional well-being.
Recognizing these needs, Jasmine connected with Healing Hearts with Helping Hands Inc. Through our program, she received the necessary baby items, participated in workshops on parenting and life skills, and gained a community of support from other young mothers. Over time, Jasmine became more confident, empowered, and prepared for her journey into motherhood.

My story begins as a young teen mom, pregnant at 15 and giving birth at 16, facing the many challenges that come with early motherhood. I know firsthand how overwhelming and lonely it can feel to navigate this new chapter without enough support or resources. But I was determined not to let obstacles define my future.

Through Jesus, perseverance, resilience, and a strong desire to create a better life for myself and my child, I overcame those hurdles. That experience inspired me to give back and help other young mothers who may be feeling the same sense of uncertainty and fear.

This led me to establish Healing Hearts with Helping Hands Inc. a 501c3 tax exempt non-profit organization. We are a safe, supportive space where young expectant mothers aged 13 to 26 can find essential baby items, life skills, and encouragement. Today, I am proud to see how we’ve grown into a community where every mother feels empowered, cherished, and equipped for the beautiful journey of motherhood.

Our mission is close to my heart because I know what it’s like to need a helping hand—and I believe every young mother deserves the support to thrive.

My heart truly lies in people. I believe in building genuine relationships and making a positive impact in the lives of others. My faith in Jesus is what keeps my passion alive and motivates me to serve with integrity and compassion.

What I’m most proud of is the work I do to empower others—whether through my career or my community efforts with Healing Hearts with Helping Hands Inc. What sets me apart is my genuine care for people and my unwavering faith, which guides me in everything I do. I’m committed to making a difference, one person at a time.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

One of the most defining moments in my journey was during my second pregnancy, when I faced domestic violence. It was an incredibly dark and challenging time, and I often felt overwhelmed and uncertain about the future. But even in the midst of that hardship, I made a conscious decision not to let my circumstances define me or my future.

I sought help, found strength in Jesus Christ, also within myself, and chose to prioritize my safety and the well-being of my unborn child. That experience taught me the importance of resilience, faith, and perseverance. It fueled my passion to help other young women who might be facing their own battles, reminding me that even in our darkest moments, there is hope and strength to rise above.

Today, I use that resilience as the foundation of everything I do—whether it’s building a better life for my family or supporting young mothers through Healing Hearts with Helping Hands Inc. No matter how tough things get, I believe that with faith in Jesus, determination, and community support, we can overcome anything.

Have you ever had to pivot?

One of the most significant moments where I had to pivot in my life was when I realized that my passion for helping others extended beyond my own personal experiences. After working in the mortgage industry since 2012 and gaining valuable knowledge in various areas—from reverse mortgages to loan originations—I recognized that my true calling was in service and community support.

Life taught me that flexibility and adaptability are essential. When I decided to channel my energy into creating Healing Hearts with Helping Hands Inc., it was a major pivot from my career in finance to focusing on empowering young mothers. That shift allowed me to turn my personal struggles into a source of strength and purpose.

Throughout this journey, my relationship with Jesus has been my guiding light. His love and grace give me the strength to persevere and serve with compassion. I truly believe that with faith and His guidance, I can overcome any obstacle and make a positive impact in the lives of others.

This experience reinforced that sometimes, we need to change direction to fulfill our greatest potential. I’m proud of how I’ve been able to adapt, grow, and ultimately serve in a way that truly resonates with my heart and my faith.
