Alright, Kenyel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think it takes discipline to truly be successful. You have to work towards your goals and dreams when you face self-doubt, doubt from others, major life changes, new environments and so much more. You cannot be easily distracted. Discipline helps you become strategic and solution-based.
I graduated from college during a global pandemic, so I understand what it is like having to go through big transitions during an uncertain time. I could not let the pandemic take full control over my story. I knew that I had to become more disciplined with my efforts and focus on the bigger picture, which was establishing my career/impact in branding and communications. Was I always motivated? Absolutely not! However, having discipline in my life allowed me to keep going no matter the circumstances.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am the owner and CEO of K. Jetton Public Relations & Branding. My company was established to help small business owners launch and grow their social media platforms, build a positive reputation, and feel more confident in their brand.
I studied communication and public relations in college, which allowed me to become very familiar with the industry. I saw a need for my services because many businesses only use traditional forms of marketing and networking in a new era of digital marketing.
I help my clients get outside their comfort zone and become more open to new ideas. I am now focusing on brand consulting. This allows me to spend more one-on-one time with clients through virtual check-ins, ask them about challenges, and provide them with additional support and feedback. I am always accepting brand consultations to help those who may stuck with social media ideas or how to grow their brand.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I was able to build my reputation within my market by promoting myself. People need to see what you’re capable of, the services you offer, your background story, your goals, etc. We have access to platforms that can reach people all over the world–take advantage of that! It’s free! Don’t t overthink it, use social media to build your reputation and connect with others. You get to control the narrative, and no one else!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I have been able to grow my clientele by focusing on the services that I actually enjoy. A lot of us creatives are good at multiple things, however, that does not mean that we have to offer services for all of our talents and abilities.
Think about what it is that brings you the most happiness and helps you make a difference in the lives and businesses of others. Doing this may also help eliminate feeling overwhelmed when it comes to your business and current tasks.
