We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kenya Zandrowicz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kenya below.
Alright, Kenya thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
One of the biggest, boldest, and most beautiful risks I’ve ever taken? Creating the Diva Kiddie brand—a universe of colorful, confident kitten characters who are helping little girls believe in themselves one page (and plushie!) at a time.
Diva Kiddie was actually born in 2019 during one of the hardest chapters of my life. At the time, my fiancé (now husband) and I were picking up the pieces after experiencing homelessness. My daughter had just welcomed her third daughter, and in the midst of it all, I felt this deep pull to create something magical—something that my grandgirls would love, hold onto, and grow up with. That’s when the first spark of Diva Kiddie came to life. I remember sketching the characters and thinking, this will be something one day.
But life moved fast. With my background in fashion and entertainment, I went back to what I knew best, and the characters were tucked away—waiting patiently for their moment.
Then came 2020. The world shut down. Life shifted. And like many of us, I turned inward. I leaned hard into the mindfulness practices that had always anchored me, especially meditation. That journey led me to get certified in Mindfulness Meditation and Intuitive Life Coaching, with a deep passion for helping others build emotional resilience and self-worth. That’s when I created Go From A To Zen—a platform with services, books, and products focused on healing, hope, and confidence.
A year later, in an unexpected twist (and trust me, I didn’t see this coming at all), my now-husband and I moved to a farm. Yep. From runway shows to roosters. Life has a funny sense of humor.
Out on that farm, I started offering workshops and reconnecting with my creative spirit. But in 2023, my world was rocked again when my oldest daughter experienced a terrifying medical scare. For a moment, I thought I had lost her. The emotional weight of that experience left me anxious, shaken, and deeply drained—even with all my tools, I was struggling to feel whole.
Then, my husband gifted me two tiny furballs: Sunny and Luna. As I watched them play and snuggle with my grandgirls, something magical happened. Diva Kiddie came rushing back, more vivid and vibrant than ever. The healing I was searching for? It arrived in the form of storytelling, imagination, and a fierce reminder that joy and hope are always possible—even after the darkest storms.
I wrote my first children’s book, The Diva Kiddie That Couldn’t Sleep, and from there… the rest is history.
Now, I’m building a brand that’s more than just adorable characters. Diva Kiddie is a movement—rooted in confidence, mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and fun. It’s a love letter to every little girl who’s ever felt unsure, and to every grown woman who’s ever had to rebuild herself from the ground up.
This isn’t just a business. This is my heart, my healing, and my legacy—wrapped in sparkles, self-love, and a whole lot of kitten cuteness.
Kenya , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Absolutely! I wear a few hats, but at my core, I’m a storyteller, creative visionary, and emotional empowerment coach who’s passionate about helping people—especially women and young girls—remember just how powerful they truly are.
I’ve spent over 25 years in the fashion and entertainment industries, working behind the scenes and on the runway, coaching models, producing events, and helping people own their presence with confidence. But life eventually led me down a path that was more purpose-driven. After navigating personal challenges—including a season of homelessness—I began leaning into the mindfulness and meditation practices that helped me survive, rebuild, and ultimately thrive.
That’s when I founded Go From A to Zen, a health & wellness brand that provides meditation coaching, intuitive life guidance, books, natural products, and tools to help others connect with their inner voice and overcome limiting beliefs.
But my heart? It’s fully invested in my children’s brand: Diva Kiddie. Inspired by my granddaughters and two rescue cats (Sunny & Luna), Diva Kiddie is a world of confident, colorful kitten characters who help little girls build emotional intelligence, creativity, and self-esteem through books, games, t-shirts, animations, and mindfulness-based play. It’s both fun and meaningful—a blend of sparkle and soul.
What sets me apart is that everything I create is deeply rooted in lived experience. I know what it’s like to lose your way—and I’ve made it my mission to create pathways back to joy, confidence, and clarity for others. Whether I’m working with a child who struggles with anxiety or a woman rediscovering her voice, my approach is always compassionate, creative, and grounded in emotional truth.
I’m most proud of the way my brands don’t just look good—they do good. Through our S.T.E.A.M & mindfulness initiatives, book donations, and community events like the Diva Kiddie Ball, we’re actively investing in future generations.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that this isn’t just about products. It’s about purpose. It’s about creating safe, joyful, empowering experiences—whether through a bedtime story, a self-love workbook, or a game that helps kids shine from the inside out.
I’m building brands that help people feel seen, supported, and unstoppable. And I’m just getting started.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Honestly, where I am right now is the pivot.
If you would’ve asked me years ago what I’d be doing, I would’ve said running a fashion house or making films. I’ve always known I was meant to be an entrepreneur—that part never wavered. But the what and the why evolved in ways I could’ve never predicted.
Today, I’m a children’s author and the founder of Diva Kiddie, a mission-led social enterprise dedicated to helping young girls build confidence, emotional intelligence, and creative expression. That pivot didn’t come from a business plan—it came from the heart.
As I watched my granddaughters grow up in a world overwhelmed by social media, filtered perfection, and digital distractions, I felt a deep urgency to offer something real. Something meaningful. Something magical. I couldn’t sit back and watch children drift away from imagination, connection, and self-worth. I had to do something.
So I took everything I knew—from storytelling and fashion to mindfulness and emotional coaching—and built a brand that introduces wellness, confidence, and creativity in a way that’s fun, vibrant, and accessible for kids and parents alike.
Diva Kiddie is my pivot—and my purpose. And I’m grateful for every twist in the road that brought me here.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Honestly, beyond training and experience, I believe mission-driven authenticity is everything.
In my field—especially when you’re creating for children and families—people can feel whether your work comes from a genuine place. What’s been most helpful to me is staying rooted in purpose. For me, it’s never been just about building a brand. It’s about building something that gives back, something that uplifts, inspires, and supports the next generation.
It’s easy to get caught up in trends or numbers, but I remind myself daily: What legacy am I leaving? I want to add something meaningful to the world, not just take from it. That mindset has helped me stay grounded, build with intention, and connect with others who share the same heart for impact.
So yes, knowledge matters. Strategy matters. But at the core? Authenticity with purpose—that’s what truly moves the needle.
