We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kenya Tracey. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kenya below.
Kenya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I finally decided to officially start my art and photography brand under my name Kenya Tracey because of the increase of requests for me to share my gifts with others, as well as the positive impact my art had on them.
Prior to that moment, I was very hesitant to take the leap into the unknown, especially because I was unemployed at the time. Knowing that my gifts would make room for me encouraged me to take that step. Honestly, as long as I was operating in my God given purpose with my gifts, I knew that there was nothing to fear.

Kenya, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi my name is Kenya Tracey! I am an all around Creative and Entrepreneur from the Bronx, N.Y. that specializes in Fine and Graphic Art, in addition to Digital Photography.
I began my journey as an Artist from a young age. I was heavily inspired by my father who is also an Artist as well as my love for Bratz dolls at the time. That is where my interests for fashion illustration started which later evolved into artwork inspired by my faith through various mediums.
I am most proud of taking the leap of faith in exploring and sharing my gifts after years of hiding them. As an artist I hope to inspire, encourage and uplift my clients, followers and viewers when they view my artwork.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A time in my life I had to pivot was almost a year prior to when I graduated College with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing (Class of 2020). At that time I became certain during my last year in college that I wasn’t called to a career in this specific field but to pursue and hone into my artistic gifts utilizing my education in business and marketing and confidence I grew from taking art electives my final year.
Although, my focus is on my crafts, I’m so glad my degree didn’t go to waste. Honestly, business and marketing can be applied to anything. Thank God for Him working it out in my favor!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
My most effective strategy for growing my clientele is definitely showing up and delivering on what my clients request and pay for. Because of that, I believe they feel prompted to share my business through word of mouth with others in their community. A person with great character goes a long way regardless of what sphere of influence the person may be in.
