Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kenya Powell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Kenya, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a customer success story with us?

I Opened KOLD Kreationz In January Of 2014. I had no idea what being a Business Owner would Entail but I knew I wanted to be one. I have always worked in a shared space with other entrepreneurs. This isnt the easiest thing to do. 2024 I will officially be in Business 10 yrs&I will be cutting a ribbon on my own building. Over the years I have hosted pop up shops, fashion shows&networking events in Det&a few other cities. The key to Success is consistentcy. Owning a business isnt as easy as it may appear. My Goal is to help Women of all ages and sizes feel Beautiful! I know I have the ability to do this because I already have. Success is a mindset.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?

I have always loved fashion! Clothes has always been my thing thats how it started. I love wearing abstract patterns and mix match clothes which catch the attention of others when im out. Im proud that I have had the opportunity to travel while doing what I love and helping others. What sets me apart from others is Im not just a boutique. Im a host, runway show producer&I have a podcast.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I built my social media following by posting daily. I also actually attend a lot of events in my city which helps tremendously. People love interactions. Live videos&commenting regular are critical.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

When I opened I only had about $1500.00. I used the money I had in my 401k from being a teacher. It wasnt much but it was enough to start the process.
