We recently connected with Kenya Griffin and have shared our conversation below.
Kenya, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
A team, as the saying goes: there is no “I” in team, and your dreams aren’t large enough if it doesn’t incorporate a team of folks behind the thought.
The days of working independently is customary, each profitable business has a structure rather written or a mere thought, a good business comes along with having a great business plan in place.
Establishing the guts of your business is essential as the thought that goes into the name of your business, the motto, and the color combos that will be imprinted in your logo.
As a small business, investors will want to view your business plan, will want to know what you will do if investors are interested in investing in your company, so the scope of your business has to be taken into consideration on a larger scale in benefit of a successful business.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
If you hadn’t already seen my cute daycare page (wink), my name is Kenya Griffin and I am the very proud, excited, and eager owner of Perfect Peace Family Care, LLC and have been serving my community for 4 years (December)
I am licensed, which means I have taken the proper protocols and measures to be recognized by the state of Missouri. Licensing your in-home is necessary (in some cases) for certain grants and financial breaks. Being licensed can also be an appealing attribute for families safety net for added comfort.
I broke into the childcare industry many years ago, prior to becoming licensed as a SAHM (stay at home Mom) and being laid off from my data entry corporate gig in 2011. I’d continue to care for my toddler daughter and eventually caring for family members children, which in turn sparked a notion in the lucrative field of what came naturally. Being a nurturer.
Perfect Peace Family Care is a parents prayers answered. We offer an inclusive enriched environment of a mixed age group ranging from 6 weeks of birth up until age 5.
As a small business owner it’s always a proud moment to say “A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER”! A successful owner is icing on the cake. Being an extension of a family’s home is an honor, parents entrust Perfect Peace Family Care with the most sacred possession, their child.
Our goal at Perfect Peace is to set a healthy foundation of learning through exploration, experiences, and through play. We provide a safe and relaxed environment your child will love to attend.
We’ll share a lot of laughs, moments, experiences, some cry’s, teachable moments but most importantly a lovable space for a child to be imaginative with age appropriate tools and guidance.
Perfect Peace loves our existing family’s and excited to serve potential clients soon.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth, word of mouth, word of mouth. If my family’s are unable to brag about their service’s received it would be an added stress in searching for substantial clients. Having a social media presence is a plus in our tech world, but you always want good words to travel about you and your business, and the business you keep. In my field, referral is a parents peace of mind when locating childcare. Word of mouth is my strongest marketing tool.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Current clients can certainty pass on that Perfect Peace Family Care, is professional, and has created a standard, a set policy and procedures that are incorporated to ensure the safety of our little’s are always thought of first. Setting the proper environment is a must. I believe parents appreciate structure with our business.
