Alright, Kenny thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about serving the underserved.
I’m an underdog myself meaning I’m known but not known that’s why my rates are as such because everyone doesn’t have the funds to pursue their passion. I do it for the love of it so I work with individual who can’t afford higher priced photographers. That’s how I serve the underserved. We all can use a little push.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello I’m Kenny Price the owner of S.T.L.S. Media & Visualsz originally ST. L.O.C. Shootaz. In 2014 I decided to start up with playing with my phone taking pics. Everyone loved them so I brought my first camera that year. I first started doing urban photography going around the city into abandoned building following the taggers. Got bored with it so I started following some of our local comedians around taking pics and video. after that it was weddings and so far and now here we are. I provide several services such as: photography, videography, Djing, Drone Footage, photography editing, video editing. All can be seen on Social Media under the company name. The prices are $75 an hr for Photo and DJing services and a $100 an hr for Drone services. I’m a Native of St.Louis and that’s how I came up with the name of my company. So look me up I’m looking forward to working with you!!!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, my mission is to bring light to our city and our photography to get the attention of the world. Mainly to show the youth they have many options in life. Also to work a job I have fun doing and hopefully create an Oscar nominated movie one day.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
It wasn’t easy at all I was a cook in the beginning so I will save to by a camera first and find photo gigs and use those funds to by more equipment. With life going it was a challenge so one day I went on all my social media platforms and announced that I was in reconstruction. Then went back cooking and now I have the tools to be a competing and successful Photographer. I built it from the ground up no assistance of funds.
