We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kenny Figuly . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kenny below.
Alright, Kenny thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One deeply underappreciated facet of being a service provider is the kind of crazy stuff that happens from time to time. It could be anything from a disgruntled client attacking an employee or waking up to find out a celebrity gave you a shoutout on TikTok – the sudden, unexpected hits (both positive and negative) make the profession both exhilarating and exhausting. Can you share one of your craziest stories?
My wife had died last April. We had been together for 15 years. The last three years of the relationship were spent taking care of her. It was the hardest thing I ever did!
My business suffered, but I didn’t care at the time. A year after her death, I met a man, Jack Elliot Smith.
I’m in band management and marketing. He reached out to me when I was at my loneliest point, convincing me I should carry. We fell in love.
He taught me that what I had learned from my wife’s passing, and from our 15 years together, she taught me how to be myself for once. To be honest with myself.
Within six months I had gained everything I had lost Plus, so much more.
So if you ask me, what makes everything work in this world, it’s love. Thank you Lenna Figuly and thank you, Jack Smith.

This whole business of marketing and management is built around relationships. That’s it! Good, strong, relationships.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to learn, to unlearn the way that the music business used to work.
