We recently connected with Kenny Boyer and have shared our conversation below.
Kenny, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you wish you had started sooner?
Definitely sooner. I am the oldest in the band, and I often feel like a grandpa with these guys. It’s good though, because they tend to keep me on my toes, and we all know exactly how to push each other to make one another better musicians. That said, however, I definitely wish I had known these guys 10 years ago.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are 6 guys with VASTLY different backgrounds. Blake, Hunter, and I came from a pop-punk background. Rob got his start in music doing rap. Ryan was always a metal guy after doing band in highschool, and Peter was mostly electronic-y types of music. The way we are all able to write in our particular genre is kind of wild. Because of our different origins, we are able to play off our name a little bit and introduce many of those elements to give the songs a lot of ebb and flow. It does come in waves, afterall. We are a metalcore/post-hardcore band based in St. Louis Missouri. Peter is remote, however, since he lives just outside Copenhagen Denmark. We record everything in-house, send it to him, he does his thing with the keys/synth, sends it back. Songs tend to get rewritten a bunch during the process. The good thing is that we have a lot of time to sit with it and make sure we are only putting out strong, relatable material. The songs we produce are our biggest point of pride. We work tirelessly, literally around the clock, nit-picking every tiny detail.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The best reward, as I think it is for any band, is getting to hear that your music has in some way touched someone. Few feelings in this world compare to being told that a cathartic song for you was the same for them. Looking out at a crowd singing your words back to you is a very close second in the feel good column.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Heck, look at the last 2.5 years. Hahaha! An unsigned local band that didn’t just fold because they were dealt a crappy hand, I think, speaks volumes. We were riding high at the beginning of 2020. It was looking to be our best year. We had opened for huge acts like Asking Alexandria and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, had Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens feature on a song from our first EP, and then WHAM! The whole world comes to a screeching, painful halt. This new music we are releasing now is the fruit of 2 years of nobody knowing what the heck was goin on. We had a couple member changes, role changes within the band, and finally got things lined out and started getting back to it. There were many days that we thought “well, I guess that was it.” I am really glad we stuck it out. Our new material is as strong as anything I go out of my way to listen to while I’m driving to the ol’ day job.
