Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kennette, Indria N/A. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kennette, Indria, appreciate you joining us today. Have you ever had an amazing boss? What did you learn from them? Maybe you can share a story that illustrates the kind of boss they were or maybe you can share your thoughts on what you think made them an awesome person to work for?
Indria- The best boss I’ve ever had name is Karl Douglas. He was like no other! Yes he was BOSS but he was also one of us (employees). Working in health care on the memory care unit, he understood that we had personal lives and things happened, he didn’t mind allowing us to come in late if need be or taking off if need be as long as we didn’t abuse his kindness. He understood that at work not everyday is a walk in the park and he would get down and dirty with us on the floor if he had to and even he just wanted to! He also made us feel good by gifting us things and praising us often which made us want to work for him with no problem. Our loyalty was with HIM if it wasn’t for the job itself. (It was for the job and him on my end haha). We need more hands on, understanding, and kind bosses like Karl!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
A little about ourselves for those who don’t already know, we are a cleaning business by the name of Twinkle Time Diamond Shine.
We started Twinkle Time Diamond Shine during the pandemic after working for a contracted cleaning company in Washington, DC to make ends meet at the time of being out of our 9 to 5 jobs. We then came up with the idea of our own cleaning services Indria is really good with organizing and putting things in order, also coming up with good ideas to help the business grow. While Kennette is good at business literacy returning emails in timely matter and or giving knowledge to the best of the company’s ability.
To our potential clients we would like them to know we offer affordable rates that are suffice for any client who requests our services.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A time that we had to make a pivot in our business, Indria found out that she was pregnant with her miracle baby! As a fairly new business with just us two taking on all of the contracts ourselves with no employees, all of the contracts fell on to Kennette. She was strong and held the business down for most of Indria’s pregnancy. During that time we also had to take a back seat to taking on so many cleaning projects per week and just focus on those contracts that we had monthly.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
Well Indria & I met in 2012 at Baltimore County Community College Essex during a English class. We were sitting next each to other helping one another on a paper and realized we had mutual friends in common we also shared the same zodiac sign and our birthdays were 3 days apart we instantly clicked! From then on we would go to Fridays after class (until this day its all time favorite place for us both besides outback steak house! Over the years we lived together, worked together and have shared many memories through it all we stick together.
