We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kenneth Pinckney a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kenneth , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
A legacy of never giving up on life, keep moving forward, to inspire others as I been inspirie by others. To show what possible.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Kenneth Pinckney, born and raised in Hemingway, South Carolina, a small rural town close to Myrtle Beach. Move around to different cites, states throughout the years. At the age of 31, living in New Orleans, I end joining the US Navy in 2007. Done 4 years active and went into the Navy Reserve. During my time in the Navy, struggle with my weight, fitness. Around 2013, I failed my Navy weigh in at 240lb. At that point I know I needed to change, lost the weigh, my fitness got better and fell in love with running. During the next few years, running had evolve in personal reason, into passion and in 2019 into a purpose. That when I start LiveRunBoundless aka Boundless. First it started with my apparel of shirts and hats and then my website where I interview runners, sharing their stories of overcoming obstacles in their lives and becoming boundless. Then, I started my podcast, YouTube channel and IG page, yes about running but most importantly, sharing their stories, journey in life. In 2023, I written my first book, “The Hills We Climb” Love it, Hate it, Embrace it, the journey. Running have been a platform to serve in the community here in San Diego especially at my day job, non profit org. called PATH, people assisted the homeless, working with veterans. Running give, me the confidence that I could do anything, to connect with people, build partnerships, to inspire to share their stories, to give people hope. It crazy that how something simple as running have been a game changer for me in life. In my life for years, I was trying to find my way, my calling. Through running, I believe I find what I meant to be and do. Being out in the community, serving others, building relationships.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I often think about the details in life. Way before I started LiveRunBoundless, I have to go back when I was in boot camp as 31 years of age man. My biggest challenge was passing my swim qualification test. I was really terrible. first, I had to get over the fear of being in the pool, so that meant I had to start in the 3 feet pool. Once I got over my fear, next was my technique of swimming. So, I was move up to the 5ft pool, I had tough time with learning how to swim, float, eventually I went to deep pool, 12ft, the fear of jumping off the diving platform and going down was not good. It was a moment if I ever going to be able to get through this swimming thing but after 50 times of going to swimming pool, everything had come together for me and I was able to move forward in life.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Really it is all about my “Why” for doing the thing I do in life and finding my purpose. For years I have seek inspiration from other people that have overcome obstacles, challenges in life and make it through. That what keep me going, When I come up with the crazy idea of starting my own business with LiveRunBoundless and to interview people and people willing to allow me to share their story during the past few years have been special. Also, by releasing my book of The Hills We Climb was a way of showing what is possible. People have come to me and tell me how they inspire to write a book and share their story.
My goal and mission to be an inspiration to others, to use my platform to serve, to be a different maker, to encourage, to motivate, to not let your past determine your future of what you can become.
