Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kenneth Owens. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kenneth, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Hello, my name is Kenneth Owens.
Owner of The Paradigm Dance Complex in Omaha, Nebraska
At The Paradigm Dance Complex, we don’t just train dancers — we empower dreamers. My mission is to cultivate artists who are not only skilled in movement but unstoppable in spirit. I believe dance is more than an art form — it’s a voice, a power, a path to self-discovery.
Every dancer who walks through our doors is seen, heard, and celebrated. We create a space where they can be bold, be fearless, and most importantly — be themselves. Because when a dancer embraces their true identity, they don’t just perform… they shine.
We’re building more than performers — we’re building leaders, creators, and changemakers. And as they step into their light, they inspire the world around them to do the same.
At Paradigm, it’s not just about dance. It’s about transformation.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Kenneth Owens, and I’m the proud owner and visionary behind The Paradigm Dance Complex in Omaha, Nebraska. For those just discovering me or my studio, know this: my life’s work is about more than dance — it’s about building a movement.
I’ve been immersed in the world of dance for most of my life, but my journey wasn’t just about learning choreography or mastering technique. It was about finding myself. Dance gave me a voice when I didn’t know how to speak, confidence when I felt invisible, and purpose when I needed direction. That’s the gift I want to give every dancer who walks through my doors.
At The Paradigm Dance Complex, we provide world-class dance training — but more importantly, we create a culture where authenticity, individuality, and self-expression are at the heart of everything we do. Our classes span a wide range of styles and levels, serving beginners through advanced competitive dancers, and we cater to all who are passionate about growth — artistically and personally.
What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to developing the whole artist. We’re not just training the next generation of performers — we’re empowering bold, confident, and fearless individuals who know how to lead, inspire, and leave their mark. We challenge traditional norms by encouraging our dancers to bring their full selves to the studio, to the stage, and to the world.
I’m most proud of the community we’ve built — one where every dancer is seen, celebrated, and supported. Watching young people transform not only in their skill, but in their self-worth, is the most rewarding part of what I do. Our dancers don’t just grow — they rise.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about Paradigm, it’s that we’re not just building dancers — we’re building a legacy of powerful, authentic, and purpose-driven artists. Whether you’re stepping into the studio for the first time or pursuing a professional career, here, you’ll find a place where you belong — and where you’ll thrive.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There was a time in my journey where I truly questioned if I was meant to do this. As much as I loved dance, there were moments — especially early on — where the weight of self-doubt was heavy. I felt like I was constantly measuring myself against others, wondering if I was talented enough, good enough, worthy enough to lead, to teach, to create something of my own.
One moment in particular stands out. I had poured everything into building something that I thought would be my breakthrough — hours of rehearsals, creative work, planning — and it didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. The support wasn’t there, the doors didn’t open, and I was left feeling like I had failed. I remember sitting alone, questioning if I was chasing a dream that just wasn’t meant for me. It felt like maybe I should give it all up and walk away.
But deep down, I knew this work — this purpose — was bigger than that one setback. I thought about the dancers who look to me not just for steps, but for strength. I thought about the kid I once was — searching for identity, for belonging, for purpose — and I reminded myself that he deserved someone who didn’t quit. That they deserved a space where they could believe in themselves, even when the world didn’t.
So I got back up. I re-centered myself on my “why,” and I pushed forward with even more clarity and conviction. That moment of doubt became the fire that helped me build The Paradigm Dance Complex — a place where others could feel seen, safe, and powerful in their own journeys.
Resilience isn’t about never falling. It’s about refusing to stay down. And every time I see a dancer rise through their own struggles, I’m reminded that our greatest strength comes from the moments we almost gave up — but chose not to.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
For me, staying connected with my clients isn’t just about business — it’s personal. I’m very involved in my dancers’ lives, and over time, they’ve truly become my family. I don’t just see them during class or at rehearsals; I check in on them, celebrate their wins, support them through challenges, and show up for them beyond the studio walls. That level of care builds trust — and trust builds loyalty.
At The Paradigm Dance Complex, we’ve created a space where connection is just as important as choreography. Whether it’s through one-on-one conversations, parent and student meetings, or just being a consistent presence in their lives, I make it a priority to ensure every dancer feels valued and supported. Our studio culture is rooted in mutual respect and genuine love — and that energy ripples through everything we do.
We also use social media and other platforms to stay connected, share our journey, and celebrate our dancers’ growth. But the real loyalty comes from the relationships. When people know you truly care — when they feel seen, heard, and invested in — they don’t just come back, they stay. Because they know they’re part of something bigger than dance. They’re part of a family.
That’s what Paradigm is all about — community, connection, and creating a space where everyone feels they belong.
