We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kenneth Kyrell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kenneth below.
Alright, Kenneth thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
The definition of “success” is highly subjective and can differ greatly depending on the individual and industry. As an Atlanta Realtor, I follow certain principles daily to ensure the growth of my business, add value to people’s lives, simplify the home buying/selling process, and find personal fulfillment.
It all starts with setting clear goals. To achieve success, it’s essential to have a precise idea of what you want to accomplish. During my time studying Business Administration with a Marketing concentration at Morehouse College, I learned about SMART goals – specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound.
Moreover, being open to lifelong learning and intellectual growth is critical. Successful people understand they don’t know everything but are eager to strengthen their skill sets, positively impacting their businesses.
My career success stems from pushing through challenges and necessary, albeit repetitive, moments for consistent elevation. Through hard work, consistency, and a focus on longevity, one can establish a unique path to success. Remember that your journey is your own, and planting seeds for the present and future is essential for flourishing.

Kenneth, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Growing up in Durham, North Carolina, I was a southern boy with big dreams of the bright lights and endless possibilities of New York City. My family’s summer vacations there left a lasting impression on me, and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the fashion industry in the city that captured my heart. After attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, I landed a coveted internship with Macy’s Inc. as part of their Buying and Planning program, which led to a full-time position as an Assistant Buyer for Women’s accessories. As my career progressed, I transitioned to the Fashion Office as a Fashion Director, attending Fashion Week and exclusive events to forecast trends for all Macy’s stores worldwide.
As fate would have it, a friend jokingly suggested I become a DJ after expressing my disappointment with the music selection at the work events I attended. After thinking about it for 24 hours, I ordered DJ equipment and taught myself the fundamentals through online tutorials. Soon, I was DJing three times a week, gaining a loyal fan base, and ultimately leaving my corporate job to pursue my passion full-time. I was booked for high-profile events with HBO, BET Networks, Dolce & Gabbana, and Sean Comb Enterprises, among others.
The global pandemic in 2020 left me feeling lost and uncertain about my career, and I returned home to North Carolina to clear my head. It was during this time that I considered moving back to Atlanta, where I noticed a lot of new developments and changes since I last lived there. With my passion for connecting with people, background in design, and skillset in business and marketing, I found myself drawn to the real estate industry. After obtaining my Georgia Real Estate license, I have since helped numerous clients achieve their real estate goals and experience stress-free transactions by utilizing my strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, expansive background in Marketing, and commitment to quality customer service. Seeing my clients succeed has made my real estate career fulfilling and rewarding.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Crafting a reputable and trustworthy image is an ongoing endeavor that requires dedication and consistency. In every facet of my life, whether it be DJing an event or attending a real estate closing, I make sure to embody my authentic self while maintaining a high level of professionalism. I believe that true professionalism is not about hiding one’s identity or interests, but rather embracing them to form genuine connections with people. This approach has allowed me to forge long-lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike, making my work all the more enjoyable.
Furthermore, I am committed to consistently improving my skills and expanding my knowledge base. I recognize that growth is a continuous process, and I strive to remain open-minded and receptive to new information and experiences. As a marketing enthusiast, I place great emphasis on branding and always ensure that my personal brand is evident in everything I do – from listing presentations to social media, and even DJ sets; my goal is to create unforgettable experiences for those I interact with, fostering not only business connections but also lifelong relationships.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
As a dedicated entrepreneur, social media has been instrumental in my success and pivotal to my strategy for expanding my clientele. The power and influence of social media on your brand and business is undeniable, especially when leveraged effectively. I have been experimenting with new approaches lately that have yielded qualified leads and amplified my brand’s voice and expertise in the market.
In particular, I’ve been more deliberate about tailoring my content to a specific niche. I consider my target audience before creating and sharing content, contemplating what answers they are seeking and what type of content will truly inspire and assist them. By focusing on providing value and helpful insights to my audience, rather than just garnering likes, I’m attracting more like-minded individuals who view me as a leader in the industry.
I also believe it’s essential to showcase your personality and interests beyond just your business pursuits. By sharing who you are as a person, you establish authentic connections with your audience, and inspire and motivate them through shared interests. These genuine relationships can lead to more business opportunities and referrals.
In summary, my approach is simple yet effective: be authentic, have fun, and provide value.
