Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kennellius Moore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kennellius, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In my opinion, the key to success—though it may sound cliché—is consistency. You don’t have to be the best in the world at something, but if you’re consistent, you can succeed where many others fall short. Repetition also plays a crucial role in achieving success. The more you study or practice, the more it becomes second nature.
When I first started using DaVinci Resolve Fusion, I had no idea what I was doing. But through persistence and repeated practice, Fusion became second nature to me, and now I prefer it over other video editing software.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I originally went to school for game design and development, but during my studies, I was introduced to video editing, which quickly became a hobby. For several years, it remained just that, until around 2019-2020 when I picked it back up and began creating YouTube videos. When I discovered DaVinci Resolve, I noticed there was a shortage of tutorials and resources for the software. Drawing from my experience with other video editing tools like Premiere Pro, I was able to apply what I knew and adapt to DaVinci Resolve.
About a year ago, I started developing digital products, which I now sell on my website. On my YouTube channel, I consistently release tutorials on music video editing and VFX.
I have experience working with clients on a variety of projects, such as editing music videos, YouTube podcasts, and social media content. I also provide one-on-one Zoom sessions to teach editors how to use DaVinci Resolve. As the software becomes more popular, I aim to make the learning process easier by sharing helpful tips and shortcuts. In addition, I offer digital products like drag-and-drop presets and overlays, which not only produce excellent results but also save editors a significant amount of time.
What sets me apart is that this is truly a passion for me—it’s not always about the money. Many of my subscribers are just starting out, so I keep my products and services affordable, and I’ve even given away a lot for free. My goal is to help people thrive and carve their own path without being tied to a traditional 9-to-5.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The internet has been, and will likely continue to be, my main source for new clients. I often connect with them through my YouTube channel or other social media platforms. Since the shift towards remote work following COVID, I’ve seen a significant boost in business. Services like WeTransfer have made it easy to send and receive large media files, allowing me to efficiently edit projects for clients from a distance.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
I sell my own digital products through a Shopify website that I’ve created. Initially, I started selling on a platform called Fourth Wall. I would recommend Fourth Wall to anyone starting out, especially with digital products, because the platform is free to use. They only take around 1.5 to 2% of your sales to maintain your website on their servers. This means that if you have a month with no sales, you won’t have to pay a monthly fee to maintain your website. However, if you’re interested in email marketing, Fourth Wall may not be the best platform, as you’ll have to integrate a third party, which can be expensive.
Email marketing is the main reason I ended up switching to Shopify. Shopify has a numerous amount of resources for email marketing along with dozens of other apps. However, Shopify has a monthly fee on the base level of 40 bucks a month. So if you’re not making a lot of sales you may have to come out of pocket to pay your monthly subscription. My only con to Shopify is that it can get kind of complicated to set up initially.
