We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kennedy Knight a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kennedy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Hi, I am Kennedy, the daughter of Laura and Forrest Moore. In my family of origin, I am the oldest child of two younger brothers and the only granddaughter on my father’s side of the family. Although my extended family was spread far and wide across the country, my siblings, parents, and I remained close and enjoyed celebrating the little things in life. Each holiday, birthday, good report card, or other exciting news was a cause for a party with our family. As a little girl, I watched my Mom in awe as she thoughtfully crafted our holiday dinner table with matching spreads, organized gatherings of all sizes, and executed the details of well-themed birthday parties. One of my favorite memories was at my sixth birthday party. My Mom put together an entire circus fair in our backyard complete with games, prizes, animals, and a ticket-booth she hand-built. It was the coolest birthday party for a six year old and filled to the brim with fun. Another fun memory I have was each holiday we would be treated to themed meals celebrate. One Valentine’s Day, I remember my Mom served red foods: Spaghetti, red veggies, red dessert, and RED MILK! It was the little things that made each day so fun in my household.
As I got older, I continued to learn and realize the true meaning of curated experiences to celebrate life’s simple joys. It was more than the details, the coordinated colors, spreadsheets, the fun parties, or the planning process. Rather, it was providing a space where life could be celebrated surrounded by loved ones. Because my Mom instilled a love for details, planning, and creativity to serve others, I now get to create fond memories with those who trust Knighted Affairs with their stories and their life celebrations.
Our motto at Knighted Affairs is “There is Always a Reason to Celebrate with Knighted Affairs” because we truly believe life is worth celebrating – both big and small milestones! It is not about the color-scheme, the flowers you select, or the food you serve, rather, about those you are celebrating with and doing life with.

Kennedy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Knighted Affairs is an event and wedding planning company that focuses on curating details, forming relationships, and highlighting unique celebrations across Dallas Fort-Worth and BEYOND! After years of corporate events and even planning my own wedding, Knighted Affairs was born out of a desire to serve couples on one of the most important days of their lives. I thrive in dynamic situations, adore organization, and pair my love for others with a heart for event design. With an educational background in consumer sciences and counseling, I believe I am set apart because I truly enjoy getting to know my clients before their event. My company is so much more than event planning – rather, developing a friendship to maximize the experience for both vendors, family members, and guests at the event. Within a few months of opening my company, I was asked to join Brides of North Texas and recently was published for my editorial shoot in their Fall/Winter magazine. It is a joy to infuse all shoots, corporate events, birthday parties, and of course, weddings, with the client’s story, style, and personality. There is always a reason to celebrate and gather with loved ones.
How did you build your audience on social media?
In today’s day-in-age, it is important to create buzz on social media. This means every event or wedding has potential for great content to boost interactions on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Although it can be time consuming to create reels, posts, and select the perfect photos, it is important to generate a way for others to get a glimpse into your services.
When I was first beginning to post under Knighted Affairs’ instagram account (@knightedaffairs), I used Canva and other software to create helpful tips and tricks for viewers. This allows you to begin to post while still growing your follower account and gain traction. Another tip to building your social media presence is to do a post to introduce yourself and your company. In doing so, people are able to connect your new business with a “real” face – You could post a headshot, a fun photo of you, or even one with your dog – Whatever it is, make sure it highlights you.
Some social medias allow you to create a business profile to see viewer statistics, create promotions, and begin to better understand your audience. These can be super helpful to tap into the potential for your company.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been vendor and client referrals. Because of my deep love for others, both vendors and my brides alike, I have been able to generate new opportunities and the chance to help others with their events. It is always so appreciated when others tag, “like”, and “share” my work – there is no better compliment than knowing you would recommend me to your close family and friends!
