We were lucky to catch up with Kennedie Byrd recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kennedie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Growing up I was always taught to always have a plan, regardless if the plan was finishing school, getting a 9-5, or even getting a corporate job. But as I have grown through the years, my creative and entrepreneurial side of me, required more and more attention than what I was I giving while I had a 9-5. Quitting my 9-5 job, was one of the scariest decisions I have made in my adult years but it was the best decision I made for my self mentally and financially. Taking this risk made me focus more on my craft to be a better and giving my mind the space to dream bigger and reach my full potential. Looking back, I honestly wish I would’ve took that risk earlier but I am honestly grateful for risk I took to become a full-time entrepreneur.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kennedie (socially known as @ Itsyvngkb) and I am a content creator on TikTok, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube. I create content based around fashion, how to pose, captions for pictures, clothing hauls, & tips on how to grow your social media. I started creating content in June of 2021 and started gaining a large following around the beginning of 2022.
I am most proud of my consistency and being able to grow my following on all platforms. I am also proud of being able to monetize my content and teaching others how to do the same! I want to continue to show other micro influencers and small content creators how to get brand deals, how to grow your businesses, and how to dominant on all major platforms.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal or mission that is driving my creative journey is to inspire and educate others. I want to continue to inspire and motivate others to monetize on their social media platforms. I want to help people feel confident in front of the camera and teach people to be independent in recording and creating their own content instead of depending on others.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When building your social media the biggest my biggest advice is be consistent and be discipline with your time. Having a great idea and going viral is the easy part but actually maintaining that success it the hard part. Creating a schedule and sticking with it is how some of your “favorite content creators” maintained their success on social media.
Also, understanding your audience and who you are catering too is super important . Knowing what your audience wants to see, will make or break your platforms. Knowing how to read your insights on the different platforms is also very important.
