We’re excited to introduce you to the brilliant and insightful Kenna Seawell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kenna below.
Kenna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
The short answer is: absolutely! I love my job more than I can say, but with the recent downturn in the housing market it has undeniably been difficult to navigate. A downturn in business revenue, especially when you have never experienced one before, will test any entrepreneur. It makes you question everything you have been doing and forces you to ask yourself: is this worth sticking through?
These thoughts have certainly crossed my mind these past couple months. They say over 90,000 agents have already left the industry. But the things that have helped me survive have been: surround myself with people who are not struggling but thriving, lean into learning and education (ie. how can I become a better expert?), and be open to changing the way I’ve been doing things and don’t quit when things get tough.
I am not a quitter. I am a business owner and I will not quit on my business.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
After graduating from Oregon State University with a Bachelors in Interior Design and a minor in Business, I worked as a Residential Interior Designer for 5 years before transitioning into Real Estate and starting my business.
What can I say!? I’m obsessed with homes.
I have a passion for people and creating lasting relationships by helping families build wealth through Real Estate.
When I’m not helping people buy or sell their homes, I can be found discovering new places to eat, skiing, or walking around the neighborhood with my husband, Jake, and our pup, Odin.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My reviews. I want future clients to see for themselves how other buyers and sellers felt about their experience working with me. I could pitch “why you should work with me” myself, but hearing how others felt in their experience with me speaks volumes.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Absolutely, I am a big podcast and audible listener. I highly recommend the books “Shift” by Gary Keller, “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod, and “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy.
