Alright, Kenitra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
To show customers that I appreciate them in the past I have done something nice for returning clients, such as upgrade their transportation to private luxury transportation. When traveling some clients opt for shared transportation which is less expensive but also more time consuming, it usually involves more stops at other resorts and with more people on board. With private luxury transportation they can go directly to their resort from the airport and not have to wait on other people to share their transportation with or drop off. It’s just a small token of my appreciation to them.

Kenitra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Kenitra Jones, the owner of Kenitra’s Travel which is a full service travel agency specializing in international travel. We customize vacation packages for clients to include things such as flights, resorts, transportation, excursions, and more. We value creating unique experiences for each client, while offering 24/7 support throughout their vacation.
My family hardly ever took vacations while I growing up and it wasn’t until I became an adult that I questioned why we rarely took vacations. Once I realized we only lacked someone to actually plan the trip for us, I began to change that. I became the planner of trips for my family and friends and that’s how my love for planning trips began. I became a travel consultant in 2018 to help other people experience different cultures, bond with their families and decompress from the everyday stresses of life.
It can be difficult to plan a vacation by yourself and most people believe it’s not affordable. If they do begin the process they quickly realize it’s stressful, overwhelming and time consuming. Kenitra’s Travel services save our clients time, take the stress out of planning and allow them to make payments over time.

Our clients can rely on our first hand knowledge, experience and expertise which is something you can’t get if you were to book your trip through Expedia or Cheap Caribbean.
I am very proud of my business growing as much as it has the past few years and also surviving through a pandemic which could have very well ended us since the travel industry was severely affected.
I want people to know that we truly are here to help service our clients. Our mission is to make sure each client has the most amazing trip ever. We want to leave a lasting impression where we do the work and you simply just pack and go!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had to pivot in my business in 2020 during the pandemic. The travel industry was greatly affected, borders were closed and people were not able to travel for over a year. This caused many cancellations and no bookings for the foreseeable future. I used that time to pivot instead of focusing on bookings I shifted my focus on business and professional development. I used that time to rebrand my business, take virtual classes and readjust my business model. I feel that time was used very wisely.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Referrals. Majority of my business is from referrals. Word of mouth travels faster than any other source. Once people use our services they are quick to tell all of their family and friends.
