We recently connected with Kenisha Mcgee and have shared our conversation below.
Kenisha, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I started doing my own hair at 11 , so at that age I knew I was going to be a great stylist. Looking back the only thing I would change is that I never would have stopped working on it . Over the years I tried to convince myself to do other things when knowing in my heart this is where my power comes out the most by being creative with my hands.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kenisha McGee I’m from Kansas and grew up in New Orleans . I was young and dedicated to doing my own hair especially while in middle school I loved to come to school with a new hair style . So now that I’ve grown tremendously through the years of doing my own hair i can give myself a pat on the back for continuing a dream that I almost put down. I am most proud of myself everyday isn’t easy and success isn’t easy being focused and keeping faith in everything that I do while being grateful for everything I have is what makes me proud of myself.! Every hairstyle that I do on my clients will always represent me in the best way ! I am grateful for my talent and I am looking forward to meeting so many more great people on this journey.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I feel a lesson that I had to unlearn was letting go of confusin , and letting go of none positive thoughts that clouded my head. At that time I was going through many things in life that had me questioning everything about life , and one day I just had to tell myself not to worry about anything in this life and live to the fullest let go of things that I feel hold me back from my true potential. No it didn’t come over night it took many days, even months continuing working on myself and there the journey begin for me.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Okay how I built my audience on social media I shared my videos, making content , having friends share my content. I also meet a lot of people daily so I always share my content and swap @ to stay connected. Advice to anyone starting up a social media presence the key to it is being consistent and knowing what target of people you’d like to interact with the most.
