We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kendrick Walker. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kendrick below.
Kendrick, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
The thing my parents did right was definitely always having a camera in their hands. I can’t name an important moment or family vacation that wasn’t captured whether it was on a disposable camera or on a camcorder! I truly believe that sparked something in me at a young age that’s made my love for camera grow into what it is today!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Well to start off I’ve been working as a freelance photographer/videographer for the past 4-5 years now! As far as being production assistant it’s been about a year of picking PA jobs!
The photography/videographer side of things is a lot of BTS visualizers and shots for people which I have gradually strayed away from. I’m mainly focusing on editorial shoots, or just anything that feels more genuine for me and my ideas
The production assistant world is a completely different beast. It’s something that is still relatively new to me but I’m enjoying it all the same! It’s a lot of quick thinking making sure everyone on set is comfortable coming up with solutions for minor discrepancies while on set the whole nine. Nonetheless being in that realm as hectic as it can be is always a fun release from being the person behind the camera! Definitely proud of myself for taking that step into it, it’s taking me on some wild rides!

How did you build your audience on social media?
As someone who’s struggled with social anxiety most of their life I’ll be the first to tell you it’s not easy. Because everyone knows the best way to network is personal interactions, how can I make my business/art look appealing to a potential customer or new business partner. It’s 100% easier said than done but once you pass that threshold and find your targeted audience it all come organically!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Reliability. As bad as it sounds I will try to squeeze 25hrs of work into a 24hr day if it means everyone’s satisfied. And I do believe a lot of clients appreciate it from the last minute pop ups, to rescheduling, to just being there on time and executing a job I try to be as reliable as possible.
