We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kendrea Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kendrea below.
Alright, Kendrea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you recount a time when the advice you provided to a client was really spot on? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Best advice that I can give to my clients is that sometimes you have to take the risk on saying yes to your goals, visions and dreams. As a provider who focuses on a more holistic approach for all of my cleints, my ultimate goal is to see all of my clients reach milestones in their health that they envision. That milestone could be losing weight, not having as much anxiety or not staying in a place of depression. In order to get to these milestones it takes individuals to first assess their needs and then being able to say yes to doing the work for better.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have been a nurse for 11 years and it was during my travel nurse experience I realized how healthy living was unique geographically. Living in California was different than living in South Carolina. The agriculture was extremely different. The foods taste different and I learned to adapt to a healthier lifestyle while staying in California over just a few months. It was than that I realized that the lifestyle I had known all my life was not the healthiest. Although it was definitely pleasurable, in the long run if I kept that lifestyle up I was going to become a part of the cycle that lies in my family such as heart disease, diabetes, coronary artery disease and more. Although this may not mean I will never acquire these diseases, I realized that I could do my best in preventing these disease. In this experience I realized that my family and community needed more education and knowledge as well.
Through that personal experience I gained a passion for health promotion. This led me to the non profit created in 2016 called One Moore Step. Through that organization wellness and webinar events were created. We were able to provide health education amongst the Pee Dee Region. Practical Purpose Solutions was created in 2020 and now is the place where individuals are able to take practical steps into their purpose. This has allowed individuals to RESET so that they can refocus. We offer services that are life changing for our clients. Allowing them to feel better, look better and even be able to think better.
The main services we offer are vitamin infusions, weight loss management and self pay primary care. In addition, we offer other services such as self pay telehealth services as well. The book Married to Self Love is a book that I have written and is also a product that is available for purchase. We also facilitate wellness programs and provide services for businesses.
Life coaching services are available for individuals such as entrepreneurs, leaders and more who are struggling with balancing their life mentally, physically and spiritually. Operating in higher capacities in life can lead to mental, physical and emotional stress. Everyone needs a life coach to help them reset and be restored. Restoration is always good for the mind, body and soul.
This service is designed to help individuals stay focus on their health and wealth at the same time. In my experience of being a nurse over the past years I have seen many individuals with hypertension, obesity, diabetes and uncontrolled arthritis because they were more focused on making money than keeping the balance. The goal is to keep pushing individuals to the be the best version of themselves.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Succeeding in my field requires dedication, hard work and consistency. Without those 3 nuggets succeeding may not be possible. This field that I operate in requires dedication; long days, short nights and early mornings. It requires saying No when you want to say yes and vice versa. Hard work is not necessarily always giving everything you have physically but sometimes it is mental too. Sometimes you have to spiritually and mentally work toward avoiding negative thoughts, not giving up and keeping your eyes on the vision. Consistency is a must or one may never see the fruit of the labor. It is like tending to a field of crop. In order to see harvest you have to tend to it daily or weekly to get the finish product. It must be watered, properly cut and more to be obtain the crop after it is completely grown out.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Definitely, I love what I do and the impact that occurs with my clients, their families and friends. Seeing people doing the work to lose weight, feel better and even look better reminds me that I am in the profession that I was called to be in. As I always tell people this life is not about me but it is about the lives of the people that I am assigned to.
