Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kendra Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kendra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
The inspiration behind the name Peachy-Keene Candle Company originates from a phrase that I frequently employ to bring joy and upliftment to others. This phrase brings a sense of positivity and brightness, which I strive to infuse into every candle that our company creates.

Kendra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
It all started with a single candle-making kit purchased on a whim. I discovered that it wasn’t just a hobby in profound fashion. The process of selecting the perfect fragrance and pouring soy wax by hand became a therapeutic escape from the chaos of everyday life.
The more candles I created, the more I realized the power they held in transforming spaces and moods. It was about the emotional connection that fostered. Candles became vessels of comfort, nostalgia, and celebrations for people all walks of life.
I remember receiving a text from one of my customers saying “Kendra you have something special.” That was all the motivation I needed to keep moving my dream and passion forward.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A valuable lesson I had to unlearn in this business is that the presence of numerous candle makers doesn’t equate to an inability to enter the market successfully. I came to realize that similar to how there are multiple car dealerships selling various types of cars, there is always room for unique offerings. The key lies in identifying and connecting with the right customers who appreciate and resonate with the essence of your candles.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Engaging my clientele in the creation process has been instrumental in building my customer base. By allowing them to act as testers and giving them the opportunity to evaluate the scents I offer, I empower them to decide which fragrances are likely to be popular. This involvement not only strengthens my business but also encourages them to spread the word and share their positive experiences with others..
My website offers an emailing list. Current customers and potential customer can join the list for exclusive offers and discounts.
