We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kendra Villarreal a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kendra , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
Showing clients appreciation can be a lot of things but the thing that it should always be is thoughtful. I’ve given many material gifts to clients over the years but the most impactful and memorable for them are my hand written cards. Nowadays we get so excited to get anything in the mail with a person’s handwriting on it! It lights is up and is a good relief from the never ending pile of bills and junk mail we normally get. My clients always remark that they love this nice, simple gesture because it comes from the heart. Connection is key!
Kendra , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Improving women’s lives through holistic facials and waxing is such a blessing. My offerings help women to feel more confident in their everyday lives. Most estheticians look at just the skin but at Kendra Renee, I treat the skin, fascia, muscle, and lymphatic system during my signature skin offerings. This provides a glow from the inside out. A lot of women come to see me for alternatives to Botox and fillers.
I have created a brand culture that calls in women who don’t chase society’s beauty standards but they choose to invest in my offerings to help them be the best versions of themselves.
I took a risk to bring these treatments to my area because no one else was offering these approaches. It is such a passion that I knew I had to do it and I believed the right clients would be called in and book a service. Now that I’ve been open for a couple of years, clients tell me all the time that the Bryan/College Station Area has needed this approach to esthetics!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Exceptional and relational customer service. It’s a dying art. If you can knock a clients socks off before they even enter your business, you’ve got them for life. Word of mouth was huge for me for building my reputation along with being niched down in my market. I am a specialist in my industry. That’s what clients want, the specialist in the field, not the general/Jack of all trades.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
At Kendra Renee, clients get an experience, not a service. From the moment the hit the website they feel the difference and the specialty of the business. Once a new client is on boarded in the system they go through a beautiful email flow to help them understand what they will experience, what to expect, who I am and am opportunity for them to communicate withe who THEY are. After all, it’s all about them, right? We need them to feel like the star of the show!
In between services, we reach out at different times to nurture the client relationship and serve them.
