We recently connected with Kendra Robertson and have shared our conversation below.
Kendra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
My biggest risk was leaving a salary position without the financial backing to truly start my own business. It was very stressful to live closing to closing in the beginning, but my life experience and work ethic helped me to double my business each year and I was finally able to truly market myself and what I can offer. It has been almost four years since I have made this transition, and the satisfaction of working for myself, with the backing of a trusted company, Keller Williams Realty, has filled me with gratitude for living a life I have designed. It’s taken the volume of transactions to make me realize, I love what I do, and I know I’m good at it. Providing a five-star customer service is my goal with every transaction.
Kendra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My career began with a decade of retail, a decade of restaurant and then almost 20 years of property management. I had the light bulb moment to get my real estate license when I realized my management job did not offer me any growth. I was recently divorced, almost an empty nest and needed to increase my income. I was very involved in my community, as a mom, within my kids’ schools, their sports & activities. I had also been involved in events within Beaches Town Center for years and became a member of the BTC Agency Board and had recently become the Director of the North Beaches Art Walk. The connections I had made in the 30+ years I have lived in the Beaches Community, and my experience managing residential and commercial properties, translated very well into my new venture as a Realtor ® with Keller Williams Realty.
When you work with me, you will receive a knowledgeable and professional real estate agent, a committed ally to negotiate on your behalf, the systems in place to streamline buying or selling your home. Oh, and a friend for life.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My involvement in the community, on so many levels, made me a very familiar face around town but I was also a helping hand to many projects. I have a reputation for being a calming presence and real estate transactions can be a roller coaster of emotions, it’s a big purchase/sale, and having my buyers and sellers trust me to guide them through the process is a key component to my customer experience.
Have you ever had to pivot?
The Covid craziness was insane, and the market is “normalizing” and making a shift. Our Northeast Florida market hasn’t felt the impact of a recession as hard as other areas, we are still an area that is growing but the media makes it sound like the sky is falling…I know that buckling down and staying focused on giving the best customer experience to each person I assist, the referrals will keep coming my way. 80% of my business is with people I know or people that have been referred by someone I know.
I have made it a point to continually educate myself on the market trends, pursue educational opportunities that help me run a profitable business and always explore new ways to better myself.
