Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kendra Morancy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kendra, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about serving the underserved.
The underserved are the people who know that they have a good product or service but don’t have any clue how to present themselves as an actual business and how to get in front of their ideal customers.
No, it might not be your cousin or your friends but there are plenty of people who need and want what you have to offer.
That’s where copywriting and marketing comes in. It’s a strategy that goes beyond posting once a week on IG.
It’s really communicating to others how you can help them with your product or service.
Kendra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into copywriting by accident. I really just stumbled upon it because I needed a job to get through grad school and my strengths have always included writing. I saw a local company in Miami was looking for an entry copywriter and I got the job! From there I bounced from the fitness, to dental to app industries either as an in house copywriter to social media to marketing manager and now as an account strategist with a digital marketing agency in ft Myers, Florida.
All these experiences created my business, BriteWriter, where the focus is to do the writing so you don’t have to! This includes landing pages, websites, training materials and my favorite, email copy. My goal is to get you leads that convert into buying customers.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Consistency! Keep talking about what I do and how I do it. I use LinkedIn, twitter, FB groups and IG. I share free resources, offer advice and communicate often. Either through DM, comments, or posts. Follow people in similar industries ( they might share potential clients or offer referrals) or follow business owners.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Recently, I decided to stop being in two worlds at the same time. I left my academic journey of being a phd student to focus solely on marketing and business. I am a creative person that does better in a clear cut environment of yes and no. Is this content good and good means that it generates sales. I didn’t get that in the academic world. I was so far in that I received pushback but I listened to God and myself. We know who we are, it takes courage just to be him or her.
