We recently connected with Kendra Harman and have shared our conversation below.
Kendra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us a story about a time you failed?
I’ve been reselling and doing pop events and markets in Arizona since 2021.
My first two to three markets were organized and pulled together nicely; however I did not make any sales. Not a penny! Hardly any glances my way.
I was devastated. I felt like a failure. Paying more to be there as a vendor than I even made back. The tears, the thoughts of quitting, the total imposter syndrome of trying to make it in the online and vending space.
While I started eventually making smaller sales during events; my streamline of success did not happen until this market season. I pushed through many trials and learning opportunities, Learning my market, my niche, and my ideal customers! My vintage business has certainly not been an overnight success, but I’m so thankful to be sitting here today still working towards this venture.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Old Soul Revival was started in 2020, fueled by lots of caffeine, odd hours and a love for vintage pieces.
Old Soul is an online midrange priced vintage to modern shop. Popping up at events all over Arizona! Old Soul has been featured in Voyage Magazine, and is currently a vendor in a few local stores: 2nd Chance Indoor Flea Market (Downtown Peoria) and Billie and Lulu’s (North Phoenix).
As a vintage curator, I am able to uncover and source the pieces you are searching for in your home or closet! Have a personalized thrift list? Enter your local personalized shopper! I will go on the hunt for you across the valley, shipping it to your door

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I started Old Soul Revival in a small studio apartment, working a full time job of 40-60 hour weeks. Ever since the founding of OSR, I’ve worked a full time and sometimes a part time job in tandem. Never solely being able to work this business as if it were my main full time.
In 2024, there was some good success after rebuilding my Instagram back from the dead. I was able to find a space and grow organically. While still growing, I then found myself unemployed from my main source of income. It was a pivotal moment for me to decide to make this business, as well as my second Desert Bloom, work for me as a full time income. It was go time, and took a step out in some prayer led faith.
I’m blessed to say that I’m doing well on my own two feet as a full time business owner and operator

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Keeping in communication with regulars and those who recognize your brand!
Getting to that point was a narrow road. I was unknowingly networking with everyone I met and talked with. At markets and pop up events centered around vintage, each interaction became a win- with customers and fellow vendors.
As I talked about before my rough market start; one thing that helped was my mindset shift. Even if my sales were none or minimal, I made every interaction count. Promotional stickers and business cards flew out my hand. I helped them to my Instagram to get them to follow me then and there. From there? Being in communication online with your potential and current customers is key. Are they searching for something? Can you help them solve a problem in then background? All of those can come from genuine conversation.
