Kendra , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Growing up, I was the youngest of four children to a single mother. Vacations where never really part of our lives, we went to Memphis and Mississippi to visit our family, but nothing close to a kids “Dream Vacation”. My favorite movie was Rugrats in Paris and when they seen the Eiffel Tower I was so amazed, my mom told me it was real. In my mind that was only something that you’ll see on T.V, I never really thought it was possible to get to. I slowly became fascinated with travel and learning about different cultures. When I turned 16 I got a job and begged my older brother to take me to Mexico. He agreed as long as I bought my own passport and paid for my flight he would take me, so I did just that. I took my first trip out the country and from that point on I was hooked. Once I started my travel business, my mission was always to help people travel the world and never feel like something is out of reach. I work hand and hand with my clients to pick the best destination for them, then we put together packages and payment plans. I take care of everything they need from start to finish. This mission is so meaningful to me because I was once that person that felt like traveling to these places were just a dream, so it’s my job to help turn dreams into people’s reality.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Kendra I’m 28 years old from Saint Louis, Mo. I’ve now been a travel agent for 3 years. I started my business after I got fired from a job and I just felt like it was time to become an entrepreneur so my money wasn’t at the hands of somebody else. I started my travel business and it slowly took off. I book international packages, along with cruises, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Which all are able to be placed on a payment plan. This takes all the stress off my clients when it comes to trip planning, I do everything and all my clients have to do is pack up and go. I really take pride in my business and what I do. Its my goal to get as many people to see the world as I can. Its clients thats been booking with me since I started and I’m so grateful for them all. Literally without my clients I wouldn’t be here today so its a blessing. Im always acccepting new clients and ready to help you take the vacation of your dreams so contact me anytime.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Posting ! By posting I mean posting any and everything that pertains to your business. Once people see that you are consistent, and they keep seeing your work, eventually they’ll stop to see what it is you’re talking about. No matter if people like your post or not, they see it. Some will even share it so to me posting your work and what it is you do is the most effective way to grow clients and it’s free lol.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I first started my business I hit it off hard and I was making great money, at one point things slowed down tremendously and I was hardly making anything from my business. This discouraged me from wanting to keep going because I was new in the business world and just felt like it was over for me already. Thinking that maybe I picked the wrong path and that I should stop. However I prayed about it and prayed over my business and got back to work. I start posting more, handing out business cards, telling a friend to tell a friend, and before you knew it clients came rolling back in and this time double. Business is now so successful that I’ve been able to fully support myself off it alone. Im so grateful and ill never give up on myself again. Nobody should.
