Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kendra Eustache. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kendra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission for business is to cook my way through life one plate at a time. However I also choose to live the same way and experience life one plate at a time. I felt like because everyday is different, my dishes that I create should be too. This all translates to that I never have a set menu and create a a new dish every day. I let the food talk to me a the grocery stores or farmers markets. I don’t make the same thing twice, unless a client specifically asks me to duplicate something. There is beauty in the unknown and when forced to be creative.

Kendra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Ok so my name is Kendra, business name Chef KendraLee. My roots are Haitian but I’ve been living in the US for a while. Currently located in Houston and expressing myself through being a Private Chef. I have a wide variety of clients but have been fortunate to cater to professional athletes. While having a private chef is definetely a luxury service, my services do allow for clients to free up their time, follow strict diets, and the ability to leave the stress of cooking and cleaning behind. With freshly curated personalized menus daily, its a service that stays exciting.
My passion is cooking for people to feel good and I enjoy catering to my clients wants and needs. I strive to push their boundaries and mine while new dishes through trying new techniques.
I’m proud of my resiliency and self desire to be better than I was before.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the major lessons I had to unlearn was that even if my social media posts weren’t receiving the feedback or attention I expected, it didn’t mean people weren’t watching. I think a lot of small business owners can get discouraged with the lack of response/likes on platforms. I struggle with the consistency of posting to keep my audience engaged, however I have managed to find a healthy balance to maintain clients and obtain new clients. Biggest lesson was likes do not equal guaranteed business.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
A lot of my business has been through word of mouth. I believe my work ethics and professionalism has helped me tremendously. I believe it’s important to keep business and personal life separate while still being personable. I thoroughly enjoy what I do for a living and take it very seriously. I keep my standards high and conduct myself with respect.
