We caught up with the brilliant and insightful K3n_Dra a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi K3n_Dra, thanks for joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I believe my defining moment came when I decided to take a risk an move to California. It was there that I had an idea of what I wanted to do which was incorporate my music with my healing practice and that gave me a foundation. However, as I put those things together I realized my calling was bigger than music and using it as a form of healing. I was mean to live that way every day and in doing so I opened myself up to self and with a greater understanding of self I began to switch gears a bit and focus more so on the healing of self which helped me better understand how to bring that to others in a more authentic way. So, I’m not just a singer, life coach or workshop facilitator. I realize I am everything and that opens the possibilities.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I believe I’ve always been in the industry of self-help and alternative practices there just never was a name for it honestly. As I began to understand self more and break away from the need to feel validated in what I do I really began to receive what the universe had in store for me and my work. I help individuals tap into self and uproot dormant trauma so that they can live their most authentic lives. Sometimes it’s through coaching, sometimes it’s through music, and sometimes it’s through facilitating workshops. It all works together and helps my clients become the best versions of themselves. I also host a podcast called Awakening With K3n_Dra that’s a deep dive into healing and the process of letting go.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn is that I needed to go hard and work constantly without taking much rest for self. I’ve realized I work best when I take my rest and go out into the world and I live a bit before coming back and working on anything. I show up a better version for myself and for others.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Honestly, I would never want to go back because I was made for this profession. I like to look forward and not behind me.
