We were lucky to catch up with Kendall Strampel recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kendall thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I spent my teen years in eating disorder recovery, little did I know, this completely changed the trajectory of my life and be the catalyst for taking the biggest risk of my life, and furl my entire career. When I was 18 years old, I walked into the kitchen and told my parents that I was going to be dropping out of College, and not only that but leaving Pennsylvania to move to the state of California, simply, for the fact that I wanted to live there, and it was my dream. I then told them, I was going to make a living using social media to do online fitness coaching- to which they had NO clue what I was talking bout. They were absolutely shocked, but regardless, I knew I had full faith in myself to do the thing. I went all in on my social media, trying to in person for four months before time. Within a few months I had over 100,000 followers on Instagram, I took my business full-time online. By the time I was 19 years old I had over 100 fitness coaching clients online, and was making $20k months in y business.
I was living, in Pennsylvania, and I knew that, after recovering from an eating disorder, my true purpose was to help other women go to a healthy relationship with their body and food.
I knew that I could trust myself to tackle whatever came my way, and that if I didn’t just go for it, I would stuck in a life I felt like I HAD to Ilive, versus what I truly loved and wanted to do.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I remember my brother walked into my bedroom and started crying because he saw me doing push-ups until I was completely exhausted. My parents were at the store and he called them to tell them “ she’s doing it again.” They raced home and the whole family sat me down in tears and asked me, how far I was going to let things go before i withered away to nothing. Now, what you might now realize… this is what i looked like. See I had this condition it was orthorexia nerovosa.. At the time I got diagnosed with anorexia.
But it wasn’t always like that, I was a happy-go-lucky kid, my mom use to call me the “breathe of fresh air” in the family.
In this moment, I felt so much guilt, shame.. And fear. In this moment i was fed up, I didn’t want to see my family in so much pain.. So i thought maybe it might be better if im just not here anymore.
Now I don’t know if youve ever ad an eating disorder or know anyone who has, but here is what its kind of like.. every day you wake up wondering how you can shrink smaller and smaller, youre consumed by guilt and 90% of you brain capacity throughout the day is consumed by thoughts of your image, food and asking if you did enough, did you do it the “ right way”.. Was it too much? Too little? And its not really something you control, it controls you.
And you would think that this day would get better, but it got worse.. I had an intervention where i pinned my parents against each other, and it got really ugly and really messy. I never felt so alone.
And that was the day I decided to turn to social media and i started an instagram. I thought, if i cant feel beautiful.. Let me go look at oter women who i think are beautiful.
I felt so alone, and i did something for me that was super scary.
And i got this comment from a follower that I inspired her to take action on her recovery, and this comment and this gave me purpose. And over the next 3 years i built a community of strong women,
Through finding a community i realized recovery was more than just me, being resilient was more than just me. It was everyone who followed me, pushing me, inspiring me, holding me accountable.
Fast forward to now, I run two 7 figure businesses, with a team of 21. I live in a penthouse in San Diego, Found the love of my life. We’ve served over 3500 women to help them improve their mindset and metabolism so they can have their dream life and body.
And over 350+ female online coaches stand in their power, follows her pleasure, and embraces her feminine power to create the business she LOVES as a WOMAN!!!
Most importantly im happy, im in mypurpose, a seven + fig earner in my early 20’s and im super grateful to serve so many people, and that what i wanna help you wit today, because on that journey, there are 5 things i realized, and I wanna share them with you today.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I have over 300k followers across my social media platforms. I builtmy ocial media falling off of simply showing my story, none stop, and even till this day. I started posting on social media when I was 16 years old and every day I shared what I was doing in my life, I work outs and anything else I can help anybody in my community. Overtime as I started to share, I started to Biltmore community, people started posting me, re-posting me in joining in our community. From this, I started hosting challenges and inviting more women into the community.
My biggest piece of advice, is whatever curated version of yourself you THINK you need to show up as, DONT. People want to see YOU unfiltered.
People love people, they want to see your life beyond your business. Its one thing to have a skill, its another to COMPLETELY vibe with someone. Your personality is your power.
Share consistently and provide value consistently !

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
I have managed to build a high vibe tem of 21 people between my two companies that work efficiently and effectively together. We have a fun culture that like to get their stuff DONE.
To curate this culture is have taken a lot of understanding, consciousness, and HUMILTY. As a leader its your job to consistently demonstrate high value principles that curate a culture where the team can communicate.
My top tips for curating a high vibe, and efficient team;
1. Have meetings often, and have a meeting agenda. In the agenda, leave your for recognition, discussion of the vision and wins.
2. Have clarity in task delegation and roles: this allows ever team member to operate in their zone of genius, so they can get things done.
3. understand individuals personality types, and communication style as a leader so you can communicate effectively.
4. Integrate delegation and reporting systems to ensure there are constant feedback loops amongst your team members.
