Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kendall Kiper. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kendall, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I just hope I encourage girls to stand up for themselves. Throughout my life I’ve experiences so much misogyny and disrespect from men and I didn’t stand up for myself for a very long time. My biggest inspiration is my mom, she raised me as a single mother and did everything and more for me when a man chose not to help one bit. She showed me from a very young age you can do anything if you really set your mind to it. I’d love to teach other women the same lesson and help give advice on navigating friendships, career struggles, and relationship struggles as much as I can.

Kendall, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Kendall Kiper and I am a 22 year old Influencer living in Los Angeles. I was born in Nashville & grew up in Georgia, so I’ll always be a southern girl at heart. I always loved to take pictures in high school, it was always just a fun hobby for me. Things on Instagram started to grow a little my junior year and I remember thinking to myself, “How can I make a living off this if it’s my passion?” This led to me releasing my first online product, my Lightroom Mobile Presets. A few years later when TikTok started to get really popular, I had the idea to show the behind the scenes/unedited versions of my Instagram photos and it went viral. I started a whole series off of it and my biggest video was my “fake beach” video I made. In that video I showed how I bought sand and put it in my Georgia backyard to create a beach like scene for photos. I did this because a brand I was working with needed “fun, summer, Beachy content” and since I lived in Georgia and all the pools were closed, this was my best bet. It worked and later when I made the video exposing it, people loved it. I then re-launched my Lightroom Mobile Presets and focused on that. I still post about Instagram sometimes on my TikTok, but now I just kinda post my daily thoughts, videos about misogyny, pop culture takes, and get ready with me style videos. I loved my Instagram series, but I feel like now more than ever women follow me because they love my personality and advice and stories, not just because I can take a good picture for Instagram and it’s been really fun and rewarding.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
This is easily the number one question I get in my DM’s and in real life. My biggest piece of advice is to pick something you love to talk about, and be consistent!!! Consistency is SO important on TikTok especially. I really don’t think I would have grown as much as I have in the last year if I hadn’t been consistent. Always remember to not compare yourself to others in the field, everyone is on their own journey and with consistency your time will come. I feel like people hear so many stories of people “blowing up” overnight, when that is so rare to happen and even more rare to maintain that audience. Alix Earle for example, I remember searching her TikTok whenever I first started hearing about her because I was fascinated if she really did blow up overnight, or if she had been working at it for a while. I discovered that she had been posting for years on TikTok and her page looked the exact same as mine at the time at one point (in terms of engagement and views). This was really encouraging to me to keep doing what I was doing. I think a few videos obviously did blow up for her, but she worked consistently at it for years and that’s why she has the audience she has so I really think she deserves it. She’s one of my favorite influencers because I really see so much of myself in her, I think it’s amazing the following of women she’s gained.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the freedom to create my own schedule and work from anywhere, as well as getting to inspire others is most rewarding for me. Everything in life has it’s pro’s and con’s, and trust me this is no different, but in this case the pro’s heavily outweigh the cons for me personally. I love what I do, and I wake up every single morning thankful for the opportunities I have been given. It’s been so cool having girls from all over the world message me that I helped them stand up for themselves, get through a breakup, helped them feel less alone, or maybe even inspired their next Instagram post. I just feel really lucky to do what I do and have the connection with my audience that I have.
