We recently connected with Kendal Rhone and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kendal thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Being in a choir as a child and taking vocal lessons as an adult is what helped me learn how to do what I do.
Knowing what I know now I would’ve dedicated more of my time to artist development to speed up my learning process.
Singing and dancing are my most essential skills
The lack of support and the lack of confidence was the obstacles that stood in the way of me learning more.
In the beginning of my journey I was was my own enemy.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
What got me into my craft was being denied of being a dance major. I went into a deep state of self evaluation and I realized I was much more than a dancer. Being denied pushed me to explore more of my talents.
What sets me apart from others is my swag and my dedication to the work that I put in behind the scenes every day to perfect my craft.
What I’m proud of the most is not giving up and my growth. I’m proud of my older self for taking the risk that my younger self would’ve been afraid to take.
The main things that I want my fans to know about me is that I work very hard and I’m passionate about my music and my stage performance. I want my music to inspire people. I want to be an example of how it looks to believe in yourself while staying true to who you are.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative is that I get to use my platform to express my feelings, personal experiences and my wildest ideas through my music, fashion, and dance. It translates into my authenticity and my individuality.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
The particular goal and mission that drives my creative journey is being able to add value to the youth for their future. I want to expose the world to different opportunities and lifestyles to encourage an open mind.
