Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ken West. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Ken, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?

My parents. My parents. Two words when it comes to them. GRATEFUL and BLESSED.

My mom is truly an amazing woman. Not only did she raise me and my brother with love, care, and dedication, but she also found time to help others in need. Her selflessness and compassion know no bounds, and her ability to juggle multiple responsibilities while still being there for us is truly admirable. Her intuition is my saving grace. I am constantly in awe of her strength and kindness, and I am so grateful to have her as my mother. She is a true inspiration in every way. I love you, Mommy!

My dad is an incredible mentor when it comes to business and entrepreneurship. He has not only taught me valuable skills and knowledge in the business world, but he has also prepared me for the future in ways I never thought possible. His guidance and wisdom have shaped me into part of the person I am today, and I forever grateful for all that he has done for me. Thanks to him, I feel confident and well-equipped to face any challenges that come my way in the business world. I truly appreciate everything he has taught me and will continue to carry his lessons with me throughout my career. I love you, Daddy!

Ken, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I first appeared on Officer Tommy Norman’s page (@tnorman23). People from ALL OVER THE WORLD followed me and my story via social media on the transition from Arkansas to Texas, along with my college journey. When 2020 came around and COVID hit, I networked with some my favorite celebrities and friends by appearing and hosting talent shows via Instagram. Knowing that I’m capable of bringing people together brings me joy. Social media is a powerful tool. I don’t want to use it for scrolling. I use it to grow and be productive and I teach people how to do the same thing!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Don’t be scared to ask questions or talk to people. You never know if someone can get you in a door that can change your whole life. Never take “No” for an answer!
Like my Dad always told me, “Always be smarter than your environment.”

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

Procrastination can be the devil sometimes. Do things early so that way you don’t have to worry about doing them on time. I’m still learning and adapting this habit. A special friend reminded me to allow myself to be human. That lesson I will always keep close.
