We were lucky to catch up with KEN TEN recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, KEN thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
My first time recording in a professional studio is what did it for me. One day I came across Paramount recording studio and after reviewing their website I discovered that a lot of legendary artists including some of my personal favorites recorded there as well and I was sold. I booked my first session in hopes that some of the greatest in that building would rub off on me. The session was a success and I even managed to impress one the in-house engineers. We went on to work with each other frequently and his belief in me was all the confirmation I needed that this is what I wanted to do with my life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My senior year of high school only a few months left before graduation. I had given up on playing football and was stressing about college and choosing another career path. When I came across an add online for Los Angeles Film school that immediately caught my attention. I scheduled a tour of the campus that following week and was mind blown by what I saw. Music has always been a hobby and passion of mine, but I never imagined pursuing it professionally. Fast forward two years later I earned my Associate’s degree in audio engineering, started my own independent record label, released my first single/video titled “Hallelujah”, and the rest is history.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Sharing my story and experiences with the world. If my music can help change or impact someone’s life for the better then I’m satisfied.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My ultimate goal is to inspire the youth to work hard and chase their dreams. Anything is possible when you put your mind to it!
