Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ken Bray. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ken, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
My most meaningful role to date is probably the part of Jimmy Good Hair in the upcoming feature, Down to the Felt. I was asked to read for the part due to my resemblance to the late Lance Reddick, whose work I’m a big fan of. It meant a lot to me to be considered for, let alone be cast in a role written for such an accomplished and talented actor.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into acting rather late in life, at 45, almost on a whim. A friend suggested that I go to her agent’s casting call and I got signed on the spot! Like most actors, I started with commercials and spokesperson work, but then landed my first big theatrical role as a homeless man in season 3 of ‘Mayor of Kingstown’. 2024 has been a very pivotal year for me as I am transitioning rather abruptly into the theatrical world as I already have two major projects in production and three in development.
I’m most proud of how quickly my career has progressed and would like to serve as a reminder that it’s never too late to begin

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I get to work with a wide array of writers and directors, from first timers to seasoned vets; and probably the most rewarding part of it all is knowing that they’ve entrusted me with their creative vision and seeing the look on their faces when I make it real.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I got hit pretty hard financially during the actors strike (like most of the industry) and needed to get a day job to make ends meet. Many of my days were spent wondering just how a 54 year old man ends up moving boxes at Amazon for $17/hour when just a year prior, I was traveling the country smiling for the camera. It was a humbling experience and a reminder not to take my blessings for granted and to appreciate every single opportunity.
