We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ken “Aka MrGentleman” Pyle. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ken “Aka MrGentleman” below.
Ken “Aka MrGentleman”, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
To me, risk is an enormous thing, especially if you’re a person who has been shy all your life. I was picked on and bullied every day as a kid. You can end up losing confidence in yourself. Sometimes, if you want to do something you love, you have to go out there. I took some risks, and because of that, I never gave up on my dream.
Being someone who has social anxiety, I have to take on many risks because those are things I have always wanted to do. When I was young, I faced bullying and speech issues. I never thought I would end up having a very successful podcast show that is still growing to this day. I am glad to have had a podcast show four years (five years on January 20th). Many people can relate to my personal story, and I hope that I will inspire them to take the same risk I took. Someone may want to start a podcast of their own. So no matter what, always take risks.
Ken “Aka MrGentleman”, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello everybody! My name is Ken, aka MrGentleman, and I am the host of the MrGentleman Lifestyle Podcast and 1/4 host of The Premiere Boyz Podcast. I am also a club promoter from NYC, an actor, a former music artist, and an entrepreneur. Being on the radio was something I always wanted to do. Also podcasting or radio, but I didn’t do it sooner because I was insecure about my voice and speech. I had speech problems as a kid. Bullies made it difficult for me to pursue my interests until I became an adult. But as I got older, I started doing the things I wanted to do (music, acting, and now podcasting) and have been doing them for 4 years now.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creator is when people tell you they are proud of you and your work And inspired them. It shows you that you’re doing a good job and that you’re making an impact on someone’s life. Stuff like that gives me a reason to keep being creative with my podcast show, “MrGentleman Lifestyle Podcast.” Because I know there’s someone out there and I’m the reason they never gave up, and it helps me to keep going and see the biggest purpose of why I’m doing this.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My particular goal in my creative journey was to always help others and push them to be their best selves. I say this because there are so many people out there with so much talent and potential, but they don’t realize how great they really are or have the outlet to grow or tell their stories. So on my show, “MrGentleman Lifestyle Podcast,” I wanted all my guests to tell their stories about where they came from and where they are now And be their completely self bout who they are, while I also told my own stories about my life, which really helped the show And everybody who listened to the show.
