Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kemuel Pierre-Louis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kemuel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I wanted to make films after watching one of Jim Carey’s movies in the movie theaters with my Uncle at 12 years old. I was fascinated with Liar Liar’s airplane scene with Jim Carey hanging from it at the end. I wondered how did they do it and picked the position as Film Director right before denying attending my intended high school Miami Central Senior High School and opted to go to an art High School Willliam H Turner Technical Arts High School instead days after watching it. It was greats like him who kept the sabbath that I fell for as a kid I.e. Steven Spielberg, and Michael Bay shortly after.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
It Kemuel. There isn’t much to say about me. I’m a dreamer who chased my dreams voraciously since 12. I’m passionate and a lover of life. I would love to leave a legacy behind of my past experiences in my writings and films to be made.
I am most proud of my books out as I took the time to write them. That’s the only thing I feel holds my level of creativity the most aside from my love for the camera and directing in my independent productions since high school. They were horrible learning lessons but I feel the stories I have published reflects the level I want to be on when given my first opportunity to make a movie majorly.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When starting out WicKLoW Entertainment with my brother and two other friends, we had no money and were very ambitious. I am proud of our success the most because we had nothing and made memorable moments together. Those guys will be my friends for life no matter what.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I think the productions are growing rapidly in Florida and although there isn’t really much stability for filmmakers here for English speakers, I guess making Sharp Pictures, my second production company a major one to be kept here forever for any other dreamer who enjoys films locally or anyone passing by, they could now have an avenue to play and make films with it one day. That’s what I want to leave behind.
