Kelvin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Kelvin Louie of KL Integrity Group is on a mission to help people learn about real estate. The team is dedicated to educating first-time home buyers or sellers, guiding them through the process of buying or selling real estate with trust and confidence. It’s incredibly rewarding when we can help everyone involved reach their real estate goals. Our mission is to empower people worldwide to understand and navigate the real estate market, ultimately achieving financial freedom that can be passed down from generation to generation.

Kelvin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Funny thing is, I never expected to get into real estate. It only happened because I was laid off from a tech company during a downturn in the tech industry. After nearly six years in tech, I grew tired of the corporate life. No matter how much money you make, taxes take a big chunk, and it wasn’t satisfying. I’ve always loved challenges and solving problems where I can make a difference in the world. I realized that helping someone find the perfect home could utilize my skills and knowledge to help people worldwide find their dream home or sell their property.

When I entered this field, I never intended to focus on money; I just wanted to help people. I knew that if I helped people for the right reasons, it would be rewarding. Becoming a top producing agent and creating my own team, KL Integrity Group, allowed me to teach other realtors to fall in love with this industry. I promised myself to teach and mentor my team with what I’ve learned, helping them develop a passion for helping others.

KL Integrity Group is a real estate team that goes above and beyond for our clients, whether it’s buying their first home or selling their property. We strive to educate our clients and support them every step of the way until they reach their goals. Great leadership comes with great responsibilities, but we embrace and enjoy every step of the journey.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

What built my reputation in the real estate world was never being afraid to speak up. I always had something to say, whether it was about something wrong or something good. Maintaining integrity throughout the real estate process was crucial to me. When people start sugarcoating and being fake, it leaves a sour taste and shows a lack of honesty. In real estate, it’s important to be able to voice your opinions and help others when needed.

This career can be cutthroat, but it’s also friendly if you stay true to yourself. Building a reputation is not about pretending to be something you’re not; the saying “fake it till you make it” doesn’t apply here. In reality, if you speak up, ask for help, and let go of your pride, you can gain a lot of knowledge and find success in the real estate world. Be honest, be yourself, and stay happy.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

The best way to manage a team is by keeping the headcount low and fostering deep connections with each member. Encourage mutual support, transparency, and sharing knowledge, especially about real estate. There are no secrets in real estate; the fundamentals have remained unchanged for decades. Instead of reinventing the wheel, focus on instilling integrity within the team. When team members learn to be honest and uphold integrity, the company naturally grows.

Teach the importance of helping people and prioritizing their needs, as this often leads to great rewards. Rather than chasing after money, focus on being helpful to everyone. Our goal is to improve the lives of others, creating a legacy that can be passed down from generation to generation.
