Kelvi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

I think about this everyday literally , i got big dreams for Kelvi Doviar Cosmetics. We are coming up on our third year in business in a few months and what i can say that i see in store for us is nothing but excellence, and being unstoppable. I don’t want my kids to sell them selves short if they don’t have to , if they have a dream in their head and they know it’s something they want to pursue i want them to know it’s okay to take a step out on faith. This is not a side hustle , this is my Legacy, this is still only the beginning for KDC.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Back in 2019 when Covid actually set in stone , with so much time on my hands i invested in myself. I got the idea of cosmetics from when after i had my daughter , as woman it takes a while for us to get back in the mode of taking care of our self and keeping ourselves up because we immediately go into mommy mode. My mom always told me just because you’re a mom and have kids don’t mean you forget about yourself. Cosmetics was one of the major things a woman could embrace herself with and it makes her feel good about herself. Whether it’s lashes , lipgloss, eyeshadow, lip liner, lip chap. I took a step out on faith and i was scared if i was going to get customers who liked my products. When i launched i never looked back and it’s been a success ever sense.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

What helped me build my reputation within market was me constantly promoting daily , it literally wasn’t a day that went by that i didn’t promote. Whether it was on my story , on Facebook or instagram or even in public.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I literally funded my business out my pocket , i didn’t want to take out any loans because i didn’t know how it was gone turn out. One thing i always did was once i accumulated the amount i paid for the products with i would buy products again and what ever was left i would see as profit. Nothing came out of pocket after that unless i was adding on new product and even then after adding on profit that one time , the cycle repeated.
