Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelsey Park. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Kelsey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

At Tangled Lines Design, I hand write and design beautiful and meaningful art. One option that we offer are our customizable pieces that have already been created with handwritten quotes or verses from scripture. The other option that we offer are our custom designs. I love getting to design and hand write the custom projects because they are just so much more personal. I hope that my art can be something that they or their loved one will cherish forever. One of the most meaningful projects that I have worked on was for a customer whose husband had just passed away. She had kept the old windows from their house and had me write his favorite Bible verse on each of the windows to give as a gift to each of her kids. Each of her kids gets to see their windows everyday hanging up in their house and be reminded of their dad, and I got to have a part in that!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Hi! I’m Kelsey and I own Tangled Lines Design, which is a small business that creates beautiful handwritten and customizable artwork. I am a momma that loves to spend time with my family, cook, garden, and do anything outside. I have always loved to paint and create things for people that are unique and special for them and their story.

Once we became homeowners, I started painting artwork to put around our house as well as creating gifts to give friends at their weddings. After hearing a lot of positive feedback, I began to think that maybe I could start doing this as a side hustle and started dreaming up what Tangled Lines Design could be. Since then, my husband and I have grown and tailored our products, but the main goal has stayed the same – to create unique, inspiring, and beautiful handwritten artwork for others.

Our customizable online shop allows customers to choose from eleven different color options, a wide range of sizes, mediums including canvas, poster, prints and digital downloads, and framing options for the piece of art that they want. Each of the pieces of art are handwritten and are intended to bring encouragement and beauty into the space. We also offer custom designs for customers who are looking to add a more personal touch to their space. This offering allows customers to choose all the details for their handwritten piece-everything from what they want the piece to say, to the font style and color, background color, etc.

I believe our custom design offerings and our handwritten, semi-customizable products set us apart from other artists. This combination allows customers to truly get exactly what they want to perfectly fill their space.

I am proud of my work and that I get to play a part in encouraging others, but I am also proud of my husband and I for figuring out so many different things that we had no idea of before starting this journey!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My goal through Tangled Lines Design to create unique and beautiful art that will encourage and inspire others in their space.

Philippians 4:8 tells us to meditate on whatever is true, right, noble, admirable, pure, and lovely. My hope is to create artwork that allows people to do just that.

Have you ever had to pivot?

We have had a few times where we have had to pivot since starting Tangled Lines. We first started out by doing calligraphy for weddings, painting custom Bibles, and anything else people needed. Although I enjoyed doing each of these and I learned a lot doing them, I realized I needed to pick one thing and stick to it. So, I decided that I was best at creating artwork and went that route! We also had to switch directions with our first website and ended up having to switch platforms, which was a bummer, but now our website is way better and has way more functionality!
