We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kelsey Moravec. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kelsey below.
Kelsey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission behind my company is to make sure that you leave my chair feeling a better person. This is the main reason why I started in this industry over a decade ago. I absolutely loved the feeling I had when leaving the hair salon/ makeup chair. It is a feeling that is truly unmatched. Being on other side of it now is so fulfilling. Connecting with my clients through shared experiences is one of the best parts. Having your hair and makeup done is a very vulnerable thing, a lot of people don’t realize that but our job as the artist is so much more than technique. It’s how you make your client feel. I was taught in beauty school that the client will always carry the memory of how you made them feel far more than the service itself. I wanted to provide my clients with both an exceptional service artistry wise and on a personal level. That has always been the driving force in my business.

Kelsey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Im Kelsey, your new Beauti Bestie! Here to help answer all the unknown beauty questions you have. I started Beauti Bestie about a year ago because I was getting a lot of questions in my DMs on Instagram asking about different products, have I tried this new concealer etc. I thought ‘hmm..I should start a business doing this.” I was finding that a lot of these influences weren’t really educating the market. I wanted to create a space that felt comfortable for people to ask questions and not feel judged or overwhelmed with the ever evolving world of beauty. I provide beauty consulting, 1 on 1 hair and makeup lessons, personal shopping along with mentoring artists. Im most proud of the work I put out and also the bonds that I have built with my clients. Seeing your clients have those “Ah ha” moments are magical. When you leave knowing your clients are feeling comfortable, confident and excited about their new routine is so rewarding.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth has been the most effective way I have grown my business. Social media obviously is a great secondary staple. I think hair and makeup is such a personal service that having someone vouch for you is huge. Thankfully I have the best support around me that are always sending me clients and getting my name out there. It takes a village to grow a business and Im blessed with some of the best!

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I love keeping in touch with my clients because your service with me is a personal experience how can you not! With the Beauti Bestie experience, I truly do want to form that type of relationship with my clients. I want them to feel 100 percent comfortable and confident with the service/ advice I give them. Social media has made it really easy to keep in touch my past clients as well. It’s a full circle moment when you’ve seen them in their dating phase, to married, to kids etc. It’s hands down my favorite part of my jobs. Building those relationships is so essential!
