Kelsey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
It sure is! People will never see the many lists of names and conversations had with friends and family that ultimately led to
“Simply Enchanted Events”. I’m a hopeless romantic at heart and a Taylor Swift fan, so Simply Enchanted Events was inspired by the “Speak Now” album. I love all things whimsical, colorful and overall, just plain fun. I felt this name truly captured all aspects of that. My husband and I recently got married in November 2021 and our colors and theme represented everything Simply Enchanted Events stands for to hopefully inspire our couples to live out their best day ever!
Kelsey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Yes, of course! My name is Kelsey Johnson and I am the Owner of Simply Enchanted Events. My background in this industry all started when I attended Florida Gulf Coast University’s Hospitality Program in Fort Myers, Florida to receive my Bachelor’s Degree. During that time, I worked in hotels learning everything from Front Desk, Restaurant Management to Sales and Catering. I ultimately fell in love with event management and knew being involved in weddings was my long-term goal.
I ended up moving to Orlando, Florida to work for a couple of hotels and resorts where I sold and serviced special events. After about 8 years of working for hotels, I finally launched my own wedding planning company called Simply Enchanted Events and never looked back! I ended up leaving my steady job at the end of 2020 with only 5 weddings booked for 2021 and continued to grow it into a full time business by the end of that year. It has been such an incredible and rewarding experience to grow a small business from nothing and see it flourish!
Simply Enchanted Events is a wedding planning company currently located in Orlando Florida but also offers destination wedding planning services. We offer everything from Day of Planning to Full Planning services, but truly specialize in helping couples with their wedding design. We’ve worked with a lot of our couples to help them discover their wedding vision and carefully pair them with their unique wedding vendors to bring it to life. We work with our couples on designing mood boards to see all of the possibilities, create mockup tables so they can see a sneak peek and then carry out the design on wedding day.
We are so grateful for all of the couples that have chosen Simply Enchanted Events to help them plan out their wedding day. It is truly an honor for us to plan alongside with our couples and then see their reaction on wedding day when it’s happening right before their eyes.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
We’ve had great relationships with our local Orlando Wedding Venues that will refer us to their clients. We have also heavily posted on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and have just started on Tik Tok recently.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Being in the industry for 8 years prior to opening Simply Enchanted Events, I was able to meet other wedding professionals in the area through networking events. We would also work together on wedding day at my previous hotels and resorts, further maintaining a great relationship to take with me in the future. I now continue to stay active in the industry to represent myself with Simply Enchanted Events.
