We were lucky to catch up with Kelsey Haver recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kelsey, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

I was always the kid doodling on my schoolwork, trying new handwriting styles and loving art classes. My parents let me take art classes outside of school where I was introduced to drawing, ceramics and painting. This is where I developed a love for creating! I was fortunate enough that my high school offered photography and basic graphic design courses and that’s where I was first introduced to digital art. After my first course, I began looking at universities where I could study art band business. I earned my degree in graphic design with a minor in arts entrepreneurship from Miami University and started my business while in college.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I started my business, Kelsey Haver Designs, freelancing back in 2017 while I was still in college at Miami University. Back then, I was designing for other small businesses and blogs while selling items on RedBubble and Etsy. In 2019, I participated in my first pop-up shop and developed an instant love for product design. After graduating college in 2020, I started focusing more on my product shop while continuing to work with other small business on their brands. Post-covid, I returned to the pop-up and craft market scene in 2022 and I have over 30 market days scheduled for 2023 all throughout Ohio! In 2023, I decided to give my online product shop it’s own brand and the Daisy Market Co. by Kelsey Haver Designs launched with a whole new collection. I continue to work with small business on developing brands that they exude confidence and personality through Kelsey Haver Designs while designing products, from stationery to apparel to more, through the Daisy Market Co.

Daisy Market Co. is a product shop full of intentionally designed stationery and lifestyle goods by Kelsey Haver Designs. The goal behind Kelsey Haver Designs is to design a life you love — and the Daisy Market Co. is here to do just that. Through notepads to make to-do lists a little more fun, cute stickers on your laptop or artwork that hangs in your home, these products are designed with intention, passion and digitally drawn illustration and lettering. Here at the Daisy Market Co., we celebrate all the things and appreciate the little details. From cards and gifts for those milestone events like birthdays, weddings and holidays to smaller, everyday moments like the perfect tote for a trip to the farmer’s market and art prints for the ever-changing seasons.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

The number one piece of advice that I have when it comes to social media is to show up consistently! I share posts and stories on Instagram that are curated and aesthetic but also share the behind the scenes of business that aren’t so pretty. Small businesses are so personal and people connect with the person behind the business so it is important to share all aspects. It’s also important to be consistent and some up with a posting schedule and goals that are attainable for you!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

While I love running my online shop and participating at events, markets and pop-ups, I’ve always wanted to have a brick and mortar space to sell my products and hosts events! I have a pinterest board full of store decorating inspiration and I would love to make that dream a reality one day.
