We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kelsey Gallery a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kelsey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
My hope is that when I am gone, people will say that I spread love around this world. I spent so long believing that there was one linear way to live, and walked around with a heavy fear of being unlovable or imperfect if I didn’t follow that path. While the people pleaser in me often found ways of giving love to others, there was an imbalance. I had a hard time accepting that I am lovable and perfect just as I am, not for what I do. Yoga gave me a safe space to practice bringing that balance into my life. I know my purpose is to share that with as many beings as I can. I want to be remembered for fully embracing this human experience, and showing all beings I come across that they too are worthy of love.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
1.What products and services does YoGallery Wellness provide? YoGallery Wellness offers heated and non-heated yoga, barre and studio classes. Additionally, because of our partnership with IMPACT Sports and the Sports Stable, we are able to provide members with access to CrossFit, Boxing, HIIT, open gym and so much more within the same membership.
Imagine, after crushing your goals at your CrossFit class, entering into the studio oasis outfitted with dim, colored lighting, a cold eucalyptus towel and calming music to stretch and restore your body and mind. If that’s not your style, try linking your breath to movement with a heated Power Vinyasa class designed to improve balance and flexibility, building strength and cardio with a weighted Yoga Sculpt class, or pushing your limits with Barre. All classes in the studio will focus on physical, mental and emotional wellness.
2.What is your business’s origin story?
Yoga changed our lives. We have always prioritized physical fitness, but not always for the healthiest reasons. Since introducing yoga to our lives, we noticed that not only are we stronger physically, but also mentally and emotionally able to take on whatever comes our way. It’s been an incredible journey that we feel called to share.
Both Brendan and Kelsey spent the majority of their adult lives chasing the lives they thought they “should” have. Checking off the boxes that they thought would lead to “happiness,” but left with an inexplicable void. They have individually struggled with self-limiting beliefs surrounding body image, not feeling worthy, the need to please, and so much more. Through their own yoga practices they learned how to practice making peace with their true Selves and take control of their own story.
One warm October morning in Kauai, Hawaii, Kelsey sat on her yoga mat overlooking the ocean, feeling a deeper sense of presence and peace than she had ever experienced before. She asked her yoga teacher, “how did you make this your career?” They said, “I just did it.” Those words sunk deep. “You just did?!” As simple as that. Feeling burnt out, empty and without purpose it was these words that seemed to free her. Once she felt the effects of how the practice of yoga changed her life she was determined to share it with others. And from there, YoGallery Wellness was born.
Kelsey is an E-RYT 200 and it is her greatest honor and privilege to share and honor this practice. It is her goal to empower the practitioners in her class to live their truth, find their peace and to be free.
Brendan is ACE certified and has a background in mental health therapy, with Master’s level training in mindfulness and builds both empathy and compassion into each class. Brendan also teaches a variety of other fitness formats including strength training & athletic conditioning, bootcamp, and HIIT classes, and he also offers Personal Training with Impact.
3.What do you wish community members knew about YoGallery Wellness?
We came to yoga for the physical benefits, and while those have been exciting it is the mental and emotional benefits that changed our lives forever. There is no better feeling in the world than watching our beloved community have this same “aha moment.” And if you give this community a chance, we know it will come. Linking energy with your fellow yogis as you flow together in the same room is some sort of magic. We hope you’ll try it for yourself.
For many, coming to a yoga studio for the first time can feel scary and intimidating. We want to change that. Our space is safe for you to come exactly as you are. When you enter the doors, you enter into a judgement-free zone where you are invited to show up as your most authentic self. You will be seen, heard and loved. Our community is our family and we are available always to support, listen and grow together.
4.What sets us apart?
We have dreamed of creating a wellness space that would foster a community that spreads love. We are thrilled to partner with IMPACT at the Sports Stable to create this inclusive, safe, and accessible space all under one roof, where members can feel at home.
We have moved from state to state, city to city, looking for a place we could call home. Nothing ever felt quite right. We always dreamed of finding a home where we would feel like locals, walking into the local tap house and being greeted by name. We finally have that here in Superior, and we can’t wait to create that same feeling for others with our community at YoGallery Wellness.
Because of our partnership with IMPACT Sports and the Sports Stable, we are able to provide members with access to CrossFit, Boxing, HIIT, open gym and so much more within the same membership.
5.Is there anything else you would like people to know about YoGallery Wellness?

Yoga, like life, is a practice. No matter where you are in your journey, there is always something new to learn or explore. At YoGallery Wellness, we translate what we practice on the mat to what we experience in life. We practice turning inward for answers while outwardly expressing ourselves through movement and breath. Our mission is to provide a freeing, adaptive and empowering environment for all our members.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons of my life was un-learning to attach to the outcome, and to be open to the journey. I spent a lot of my life believing that there was a “right” way of living, a linear path that would ultimately lead me to “success.” The problem was that my definition of “success” really made no sense. I think I thought “success” was “happiness” and although I love to be happy, my ultimate goal in this human experience is to actually experience all of the things that we get to experience as humans, and happiness is only one of those things!
Because of my attachment to the way I thought I should be living, I felt trapped in doing things a certain way in order to achieve this outcome. But as I checked off the boxes, I continued to feel a lack of purpose and fulfillment. It wasn’t until I started practicing yoga that I started to learn about “unbecoming” and letting go of attachment that I started to be open to the journey.
Spiritual leader Ram Das spoke about water flowing downstream. It doesn’t attach to any particular destination, it just flows. And because of that, if it comes up against an obstacle (a stick or a dam), it just flows in a different direction. This stuck with me and once I started to open myself up to the idea of living for the journey, I noticed that opportunities started to pop up that I would have never seen otherwise. This is how I had the chance to change my life’s work to yoga and for that lesson I am forever grateful.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
After coming to the realization that my purpose was to spread love to as many people as possible through yoga, I was determined to share this with the world. My husband and I decided that if we were going to live this mission we were going to be all in. We left our comfortable corporate career that we had spent years building up. We sold our comfortable house that we spent our lives saving for. We rented a van and with our two dogs, we hit the road. We meditated, did yoga, climbed mountains and spent a month in nature learning about ourselves and our purpose. Feeling more free and clear than we ever had before, we landed in Colorado and started teaching yoga. Almost instantly, we started to come across a community of like-minded, supportive, empowering and loving people. Within this loving community, opportunities started to arise. This is where we met our business partners and how YoGallery Wellness was born.
